Audition??

NAME DAY!! I'm actually going to do three names: Chandar, Vega, and Levant. Their meanings? Sun, falling star, and moon. Isn't that great? Sun, moon and star! If I decide to use the name Vega for my assassin girl, her brothers will be Chandar and Levant.

I remembered the big thing I wanted tot tell y'all! Remember when I said I was thinking about becoming an actress? And how I might want to do some plays at the community theater coming up? Well, I got a little card in the mail about the play Mulan! The auditions are on the 28th, and I think I'm going to go. I have to sing sixteen bars of a song, and then a short dance combo is going to be taught. My mom says I can sing, and I've been doing dance all my life, so I guess I'm going. I don't think I'm an *amazing* singer, my range isn't very good, but I can sure carry a tune.

I'm super excited. What should I sing? Yikes! Mulan!

I also have poison ivy :'( All over my left ankle. And now my face is itching and there is a bump under my nose. I'M ITCHING EVERYWHERE! AHHH!! *moan* I've had poison ivy before, all over my face. It is NOT FUN, let me tell you. My dad is pretty allergic, and sometimes when he gets poison ivy in one place, he'll break out in all the places he's ever had it. What if that happens to me? What if I get it all over again? WHAT IF IT'S STILL THERE FOR THE AUDITIONS??

Sorry. I freak out about this stuff. (In case you A: haven't figured that out yet or B: don't know me personally.)

So, I found out when soccer practice starts. This Saturday at 10am. *MOAN* I am so out of shape it isn't even FUNNY. I'm going to die. DIE, I TELL YOU. HOW CAN I GET IN SHAPE IN TWO DAYS??

Sorry, sorry. I'm in the freaking out mood today apparently.

Under my nose is REALLY itching...

Harrpy Potter is getting a little better. I don't hate him anymore, and I really, really love Draco Malfoy, just like I thought I would. Evil little cuss >:D

The W Chronicles is going alright, too. I wrote a little of the first series, Woods.

Kieran and Vega tied for the names for my assassin girl (series Wars). I'm setting up another polls just between those two names. Sorry if it seems like this is going on and on.

Picture Day won for the favorite with 6 votes, followed closely by Name Day (yay!) with 5. Quote Day came in next with 3 votes, then God Day at 2 and Challenge Day with 1. Looks like Word Day and Carpe Noctem Day are OUT! Fine by me! But, I do need two days to replace them. I have some ideas, but I'd really like to hear yours. Leave a comment if you would, or email me at livinglovinglaughinglearning@gmail.com as usual. There may be an award for best idea...

So, if you would, vote once more on the poll for the assassin girl's name. Vega (VAY-ga) or Kieran (kee-ERH-in)? And if you have any ideas for what to do in place of Word Day and Carpe Noctem Day, let me know!

Muchas gracias!

P.S. I also wouldn't mind an occasional prayer about the audition? And the poison ivy...Lol :)

July 17, 2009

*sob* I've lost two followers in one week!! What has happened to my streak of good follower luck? Oh well. A three steps forward, one step back.

People are coming over for dinner tonight. Matt and Katie ("little brother" and "little sister") and their parents, and this guy that's helping our church build a bigger building. The guy has a daughter my age, and then two younger boys. This is going to be an interesting evening. Hopefully, the girl will be nice and hopefully Matt and the other two boys won't do evil things to us the whole night, lol!

Last night and today, I read over my fire fairy stories. They need so much work. Usually, I read over them and like them, even if they are a bit juvenile. This time, I was just disgusted with myself. *sigh*

I figured out why my stomach muscles aren't that sore this morning. I stopped lifting with my abs and started lifting with my neck. *rolls eyes at self* My neck is sore instead. I can't believe this. It's not like I don't know how to do crunches. I mean, I do, I guess I just...didn't, lol!

Okay, Challenge Day! No one does the challenges, which just figures because I'm finally getting creative with them. Here's the dumbest, and possibly easiest, challenge yet: take a picture of your eye. And preferably upload it somewhere as proof, but you don't have to. You can just tell me. You will get an award for it. *trumpet sounds*

I need books. I've read everything I own. I haven't been to a bookstore in FOREVER. I'm dying. Withering away. HEEEEEEELP!

Oh, guess what? The Youth Mission Trip is a week from Sunday! *gasp!!* It came up so fast! And it sucks, because that means that school starts in less than a month! NOOO! It feels like I just got out! And I've actually been out for way longer than anyone else, so I have NOTHING to complain about, lol! Still, being off has been nice.

On the other hand, being a nerd and all, I'm really looking forward to having to use my brain again. I feel so pretty-minded (read the "Uglies" series by Scott Westerfield. Highly recommended.).

*sigh*

That's all. Bye.

Eyes and Brains

It's Picture Day! (Blogger is still being stupid. I can't add links or change the font.)

*gasp* Oh my gosh! I can't add a picture! When I try to, all that shows up is the link, not the actual picture! WHAT IS UP WITH THIS STUPID THING?? GOSH! Okay, if any of you more comptuer-savy people have any idea what's wrong (maybe I clicked something?), please let me know what to do to fix it. -_-

And the pictures are awesome, by the way. And I even had a little "speech" to go with them. *sigh* Okay, well, here's an idea. I'll just post the links and you can click on them. Not nearly as awesome and exciting, but whatever.

"Speech":

I’ve always been fascinated by eyes. It’s the first thing I notice about people, and it’s the thing I always seem to stare at. Even in restaurants and stores, I find myself looking at peoples’ eyes. You can tell a lot from someone’s eyes. As Shakespeare said, “Eyes are the windows to the soul.”

I think that’s very true. Emotion comes through your eyes. Even if you’re trying to hide your true feelings, I think some of what you’re really thinking comes through your eyes. It’s impossible (or at least nearly so) to prevent this.

Besides being “windows to the soul,” eyes are really beautiful. I love peoples’ eyes. I’m sure a lot of it is just me, but I think everyone has a certain degree of fascination with eyes. For one thing, although there are supposed to be only four main colors—blue, green, brown, and hazel—no two pairs of eyes are alike. Even if they are almost the same color, the shape of the eyes or something else is different.

As I said, eyes are the first thing I notice about people. If I can’t seen someone’s eyes when I’m talking to them or sitting next to them (like in class), it irritates me for some reason. It’s not like I get angry or something, I just feel the need to try to get a glimpse of the person’s eyes.

Some people I know have extremely intense eyes. (I’ve been told that mine are as well, I don’t really think so. It’s possible that your own eyes never seem intense to you.) I’m big on eye contact, but some people I know have such intense eyes that it’s hard for me to continue looking at them for any amount of time. I seem to almost get “lost” in their eyes. When I’m talking to someone like that, I sometimes realize that I haven’t been listening to them. I’ve just been studying their eyes.

It’s completely possible that I’m just a freak and I need to get a hold of myself, but I think I’m just unusually fascinated. Does anyone else feel this way? It seems to me that the eyes are the most important part of the body, and everyone has a certain degree of interest in them. Or at least I think everyone should. Eyes tell a lot about people. Pay attention. Who knows what you might notice?

-end of weird and boring speech-

I'm leaving for mini-camp in two days! Yay! As soon as my dad gets home from doing something (forgot what, lol), we're going to Wal-Mark to get some stuff like more sunscreen and a couple of other things.

I ate some of these weird cookies a couple of hours ago, and now I feel all weird. Ugh. I am not going to eat those again. I hope I don't puke or something.

Wow, sorry; that was definitely too much information, wasn't it? *shakes head at self*

The weird mood is back. Or maybe it's the cookies... XD

Anyway, I've been feeling...bored lately. Not the usual I-don't-know-what-to-do bored. More like, I feel like I don't have a life anymore. Or a brain, actually. I spend entirely too much time on the computer, and my creativity and general intelligence is suffering, I think. (Don't laugh; I'm serious *giggle* No; really.)

I feel like my whole life is on the computer/internet, and that isn't healthy. I need to be outside more, talk on the phone more, write more. I was gonna say "read more", too, but I actually read just as much as ever (maybe more), so never mind that. (FYI, I think "never mind" should be one word. It looks better, and it just seems like it should be one word. Don't you think?)

Anyway, back to my rant about losing my brain (lols).

I have to stop being on the computer so much. It's just not healthy for my body or my mind. I'm thinking of setting myself limits. Like two hours a day or something. Hmm. And maybe I should make schedules for other things, too. Like, being outside time, TV time, reading time, writing time, etc.

I think I should do that. I'll probably hate it, but I think it'll be good for me. The only question is, do I have the self-discipline to stick to this?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

We'll see.

For now, I'm getting off, and I promise myself to only get on one more time (maybe two??) after this.

Carpe diem. NOT on the computer.

Guests and More Procrastinating (Only it's hardly even my fault this time ;) )

Tonight some people are coming to our house for this meeting my mom is doing for Classical (the homeschool program we do), and they're going to spend the night. We've been cleaning all day, I barely got ANY school work done, which is HORRIBLY bad news because I really need to be doing a lot of stuff. My philosophy presentation is like halfway done, and it has to be ready to present (which means I need to LEARN IT) on Tuesday. *gulp*

I know, I know. You're asking "So why aren't you working on it NOW instead of BLOGGING about it?"

Answer: Uhhhhhhh....*cough* slacker *cough*

I did paint my nails today though. Or really I re-painted them. They're this awesome sparkly hot pink.

I have a mouth ulcer where my bottom right canine tooth is cutting my lip. It's so weird. I didn't think your own body was supposed to hurt itself.

I haven't written any Mirror lately. Well, like two days ago and like a sentence yesterday, but it all sucks. I don't know what's wrong. Page thirty and up I feel like I need to SERIOUSLY work on.

Whoa, I just got really dizzy and now I'm seeing spots...I'm pretty sure that's not a good thing. Oh well.

Today we finally put this cabinet thing in place between the wall and the fireplace. THAT was an ordeal, let me tell you. We measured the space before the rock was put on the fireplace, so when the rock was put in, the cabinet (which is HUGE and REALLY heavy) didn't fit. So today, this guy and his daughter, who's my age, came over to help my mom and dad put the cabinet in place. It took like an hour and I thought my dad was gonna get his head smashed (too hard to explain). It was crazyyyyyy.

So, that's another reason why I got next to no school work done. And unfortunately tomorrow is Saturday, so I probably won't work then either. (*Cue stomach knot*)

*MOAN* I don't know what I'm gonna do. I'll let you know if I die of stress or fail ninth grade or something.
