It's...Okay To Be Back

We're home! I would say it's good to be back, but, well...vacation is pretty awesome, and I really still love my old house, so coming home was kind of...a downer :(

Brighter side: Vacation was pretty good! We stayed a whole extra day so that I could swim. Aw! I was so happy that my family would do that for me. It was great. There were some truly hilarious people that hung out at the pool. I laughed out loud several times. There was one family with two little boys, an older boy, mom, dad, grandma and grandpa. They were really something :) Southern and...not the most well-mannered family ever ;) Still, they weren't really obnoxious, and they were pretty funny. Their hotel room was on the third floor, overlooking the pool. They kept leaving stuff out on the balcony to let it dry, and it would fall off the railing. Once they yelled down at my mom and dad to get a flip flop for them, but mostly they just kept coming down and getting the fallen item and going back up. Once, I saw them spying on me with bonoculars. Lols! The older boy seemed like the most polite of them all. He was definitely in the redneck category, but he was considerate and seemed nice, too.

Uh-oh side: My mom almost lost all her favorite jewelry! When we decided to stay another night, that was fine with the hotel people, but we had to switch rooms. She accidentally left her jewelry in the drawer of the first room we stayed in. We didn't notice until this morning when we were packing up. She knew she'd left it in the drawer of the first room, so we called the front desk and they checked it out. It wasn't in the drawer, and it wasn't in the lost and found. OH NO! Well, after a few minutes of tragedy and panicking, it turns up in the lost and found after all. The maid had put the jewelry case and stuff in a grocery bag, so the lady looking through the lost and found hadn't recognized it from the description. Go figure.

Redder side: I got sunburned in my new bathing suit! I used to never wear stuff like the one I'm wearing this year, so my chest, like never saw the light of day. Apparently, when your skin isn't used to any sun at all, exposing it to the intense rays of the beach sun is a bad idea with only SPF 6 on. I have lobster chest. Ouch.

Specialer side: It's picture day! I would upload a photo from our trip, but the camera is dead, and anyway, I'm not good at that kind of stuff, lol! So, here's something else instead:

Not exactly what you think of when someone says "beach", but it's pretty, so, whatever ;)

Familiar side: We're going to watch National Treasure tonight! Always a favorite.

Written side: That random scene for "The Mirror" is going really nicely! I can't wait till I figure out what to do with it...lol!

Hmm...I know there was something I was going to say...Oh well. Must not have been very important otherwise I'd have remembered, right? Let's hope.

Carpe diem!

That is One Long Word

Today was Day 1 of VBS (vacation Bible school)! I'm a crew leader this year, which is fun and awesome and a little nerve-wracking (not too bad) at times. I'm kind of a co-crew leader with another girl my age named Stacey. In our crew we have six little boys and then two sixth grade girls. They're a pretty interesting bunch :)

After VBS, which is 9am-noon, we (my family) ate a quick lunch and then went to the old house to clear out some more junk -_- Our realtor came over and gave us some pointers about what to do to make the house more appealing, too. Sounds like we'll be painting and getting new carpet. Luckily, it also sounds like we'll be getting a professional to do it, so we don't have to, lol! I know, that's probably pretty selfish and lazy for me not to want to do that.

Being at the old house was kind of hard for me. I've been missing it A LOT lately, so to go see it and miss it in "person" was difficult. We had the best yard in the whole world, I loved my view (best in the house), I loved the upstairs, etc. I almost cried like three times. Never when anyone was around, though. If my family knew how much I wished we'd never moved, they'd be upset.

Yes, I do actually wish we'd never moved.

*spoiled bratty complaint alert*

I didn't realize it, but I had everything I wanted at the old house. Yes, it was too small to do much, but it had so much character! So much happened in that house. The old house feels like an old friend that I'm deserting, and this new house feels like a stuck-up, colorless place. Our new house has no character. It's brand-new, so nothing has happened to it yet. That might be a neat thing if I were staying longer. It might be fun to watch my house go through all its first adventures, but I'm only gonna be here for three years anyway, and then I'm off to college.

You can't know how awesome my old house was. I can't even explain it. I'm not even gonna try. I can't even fathom why no one will buy it. It's the best lil' house ever. I miss it t :(

We had pizza for dinner, which was pretty good, but now I feel a little unsettled, so we'll see, lols :) Lately I've been worrying about everything all the time. GOSH, I thought I was past all this!! *sigh*

Today is Word Day.

I guess you expect me to post a word, don't you? Okay :D I'm going to try to pick on that WON'T lead to a Carpe Noctem style rant. Um, what about...

Okay how's this. I'll do two words since I won't go into a rant:

The most commonly used English word: the

The longest English word is 189,819 letters long and it's:

...

Would you believe me if I told you that it was too long for Blogger to post without freezing up? Because it is. It's so long you can't believe it unless you see it, so I'm determined you're going to see it. Let me just post this, and I'll try a seperate post for that word.

Peace out.

P.S. Oh, yeah, and CARPE DIEM!

On Second Thought

My dog is sad.

I have a cold or allergies or something cause I feel like CRAP today.

I can't sleep here.

This house is too big.

My room is always freezing, and the main floor is always hot. (I'm used to it being the other way around, and I LIKED IT THAT WAY, THANKS.)

Our water tastes NASTY.

I love cable TV.

And...that was my day.

Oh, yeah, and class was awesome.

YYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!

Hi! This is Kendra Logan, proud owner (okay, my parents own it) of a beautiful, gorgeous, amazing, awesome, perfect, TERRIFIC NEW HOUSE! HALAAAAAAA! I love it, love it, love it, LVOE IT. I can't get over the fact that I LIVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first day I went around the house jumping around like a six year old. *shakes head at self* This place is just what I've always wanted. Lots of people in the neighborhood, too. Yesterday was the best day of my life. Kids were everywhere. I loved it.

The only bad part about this is that my poor dog is so confused. We put up an invisible fence, and she's so freaked out. She doesn't let us all leave, either. She's terrified that we're gonna leave her or something. Poor doggy. I feel so bad for her.

My room is amazing. Blue and green and everything matches and it's AMAZING. The only bad part about this is that I will still have to do school work.

Oh well.

Best. House. Ever.

Moving and (Maybe) a Bad Week

The shelves are slowing emptying, brown boxes litter the floors, the sound of packing tape ripping fills the air...we're moving.

Even though we can't officially move into the New House until Friday, we're already packing stuff up. I haven't started on my room yet, but everyone else has gotten started. Hmm. Better start soon. Things aren't super tense yet; I'll let ya know :)

I understood math today. The world probably stood still in respect for that rare and beautiful occasion :)

Didn't feel like going to dance class, but I did anyway. It was okay. I got there and found that I only had one lonely tap shoe in my bag... The other one was missing. Great. I had to dance in jazz shoes, which are way softer than tap shoes. I kept forgetting and banging my toe down on the wooden floor. OW.

The girl who's Ember's real-life twin wasn't there, but Paige's was.

Creepy Story (I mean "The Mirror...gotta get used to that) isn't going well right now. It doesn't feel like I have writter's block, it just feels like...I've lost interest. BAD, BAD, BAD THING. Yikes. Maybe creating my website was a jinx. I need to un-jinx myself and fast. Ideas are boiling in my brain and I just don't feel like writing them down!

*Sigh* This week is going to be bad-interesting. I can feel it for some reason. Don't know why yet, but I just feel it. Oh well. I'll be happy to be proven wrong (for once).

We're Closing!

Guess what? We're closing on the House on the 27th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We'll probably move the 28th! Wow! It feels so much more real now. And kind of sad. I love the new house, and I hate this one (lol), but I'm really going to miss the yard. Maybe that's crazy, but I just really love our yard. I have so many memories in it. And it's HUGE! Lots of grass, and a little dirt turnaround thing that my sister and I used to play prairie in and stuff :) There are cool trees, and little trails in our woods, and a fire ring, and an awesome weeping willow tree and the view from my window is AMAZING. I just don't want to leave the yard!

I like the yard in the new neighborhood though. It's nice, but not so friendly. More...I don't know...perfect. Lol, you know? Hmm...
At any rate, we're closing on the house, and I'm super excited! I hope the move is smooth. I don't want it to be this long, drawn-out, super stressful ordeal, you know? Oh well. We're finally moving. Yay!

I Didn't Crash and I Also Didn't Procrastinate

GUESS WHAT??? I DROVE TODAY!! AND I DIDN'T CRASH! Lol! I was so happy! Not with a driving instructor or anything big like that, just around the neighborhood where the New House is. At first, it was a little scary as usual, but it got easier more quickly than usual. I've driven before, but only for like three minutes at a time. Just down the road or something. This time, I drove ALL OVER the new neighborhood when we went to see the House.

Oh my gosh, the House is finished! All that's left is for the people to come and clean up the floor and counters and vacuum and stuff. It's beautiful! Wow! And it was really windy today, which is, like, my favorite! (I absolutley LOVE wind.) The landscaping is so beautiful, and the carpet is in. I don't know how or why, but the carpet made my room look bigger...My room with BLUE WALLS of course. Lol! Creativity to the max!!

Today I tried not to procrastinate, and things went...wow. A lot faster than usual. I finished much earlier when I wasn't stopping to stare at my story or check my empty inbox for the millionth time :) Not that I usually do that or anything...........hehe :) I think staying on top of things will be a little easier now that I've seen for myself how big of a difference it makes.

Oh, and I finally figured out who this OTHER girl in my dance class reminds me of. Can you guess? Yup. (Or maybe no. What did you think it was?) Another book character. There's a girl in my dance class named Brooke that looks exactly like Paige Walt from Creepy Story. Acts like her sort of; not quite. But she looks almost just like her, and she reminds me of her. I'll have to post a picture of her if possible....which it probably isn't. Still. I'll try. And I'll try to get one of McKinna, too. Gosh, McKinna scares me sometimes. She's just exactly like Ember Smokeman....

Well, other than my driving and the fact that the House is so awesome I can hardly stand it, not a lot is goin' on. But still, that's pretty good for me. Driving, moving, not procrastinating, meeting my own characters. The worlds is a pretty crazy place after all. Don't miss it. :)

P.S. I still haven't heard back from the Shurtugal.com people. I don't know if you remember, I applied for a job as a columnist for them. They haven't responded...Do you think they're still considering, or should I give up?

A Boring Day

Hi! Today was my friend's first day at private school! Hope she had a good day...

Well, not very much at all has happened today. Like, really nothing. I haven't even THOUGHT anything interesting lol!

I'm a bit intimidated by the science research paper...not sure where to start, but I'll figure it out. Hey, the hard parts are (supposed to be) over. I've picked a topic done some research. *crosses fingers*

My writing has gotten a little better. For more than a week I had pretty bad writer's block, but I think it's better now. Hope it lasts :)

*sigh* There are some complications with moving in as soon as we had hoped. We haven't sold the house we live in now, and something is weird with the insurance with the new one. Not really sure of all the details, but it's really frustrating : I was also really counting on being able to have all my girl friends over for a sleepover, and this house isn't big enough :( We all thought we'd be moved in by now, and definitely by my birthday (February 7th). Oh well. It's all good. It'll happen.

Well, maybe I'll post later when I've got more to say. Lol, for someone who has nothing to say I sure can talk a lot :) I have dance class tonight so maybe there will be some interesting things to say about that.

Blue Walls and Birthday Parties

They’re painting my room in the new house!! I’m so excited! At first when they started painting, I hated the color. It was too bright. Like all you could think about when you walked in the room was: AHH! IT’S BLUE! Lol! But yesterday, the painter guy (who’s soooo nice) helped me mix white into the color until it was how I liked it. Now I love the color and I can’t wait to see it on my walls! Yay!

Guess what?! My birthday is less than a month away! I don’t know what I’ll do for my party though. Last year was a complete flop, and I’ll be the first to admit it. I love “Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring”, but it’s just too long to watch at a birthday party. I don’t know what I’ll do this year…

Haha, sorry, I’m just talking random stuff now. I’ll shut up, at least for now :)
