I'm really confused. I'm not an excessively moody person, but I never stay this happy for so long at a time, especially not when cruddy stuff happens. And yet, here I am. This is my...*counts*...fourth day of being really happy. But I guess if you're going to get stuck on one mood, might as well be happy, right? :D
I'm sick. I have a cough, and that achy feeling that makes your skin hurt -_-
Hmm...I'm not going to dance tonight. *sigh* With a cough, I think jumping around in a hot room would pretty much suck :( This is my second week in a row missing it, though. Ugh, I hate missing dance. It makes my feet go crazy at inopportune moments XD
If you have a Facebook, you should become a fan of this little guy: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1199124401#!/pages/Jaxon-Jarman/301478489274?ref=nf He's basically the best little thing since sliced bread.
Uhm...aaaaaand that's all for now folks :) I'm not thinking particularly deep thoughts with my head all fuzzy >.< In a few days I should be back to the Kendra you know and love (or hate XD).

Mostly Boring
Thanks so much for following, Katie G! You made my day (well, yesterday, but whatever XD).
Today was the get-together-with-cousins day. Garrett the Tall and Kathleen the College-Freshman are lots of fun, but more and more I'm finding that I'm closer to my friends than I am my own family. Is that bad? I can't decide if I feel guilty about that. I do have lots of fun with my cousins, though.
Oh, Kathleen was interested in Alias, so we watched the first episode :D Watching the first one made me realize something: they just get better as they go on XD
For lack of a Christmas Countdown, I'm left with not much to say. Haha, did some of you actually just cheer?? How rude :P Just kidding. I don't have any big revelations to post, but maybe you'd be interested in a few little revelations? :)
1. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately. So much, in fact, that I wouldn't know where to start even if I were going to. I'm a confusing person, sometimes so much that I even confuse myself. And that's REALLY bad, right? XD Doesn't it suck when you don't know what you want?
2. VOTE ON THE POLL TO THE RIGHT. YES, THAT ONE. DO THAT FEW PEOPLE REALLY READ THIS THING? JEEZ. Can't blame you. This is boring :P
3. I have (once AGAIN) started the "fire fairy story". How far will it go this time? You guess. The winner will be given a lifetime supply of virtual cookies.
Just so you don't decide that without Christmas, I am boring, let me tell you some things I plan to post about in the final days of 2009 :)
- Cultural Honor (I like this one. Some of you may have already read it on Carpe Noctem.)
- More Fortuna Kendrae
- Top Ten Blogger Pet Peeves
- "Sex" is Not a Bad Word (This was originally entitled, "Sex is Not a Dirty Word", but I decided that came across a bit differently than I intended XD)
Stick around and maybe you'll learn something, or at least get in a few laughs at my attempts to be philosophical ;)
Hey, if you have an preference to which of those topics I do first, let me know!

Nothing...
First things first: Thanks to Sam Probert for following! Followers are the best.
Today was pretty good! Woke up at like ten, didn't eat breakfast, did stuff on the computer, at lunch, watched the end of the Disney movie "Cow Belles", got back on the computer, wrote something on Carpe Noctem (which turned out to be pretty lame), ate delicious dinner, figured out how to fix what was wrong with Blogger, talked to some people on gmail, and now I'm typing this with my throat feeling like it's swelling up -_- It did this yesterday at the pool, earlier today, and again now. It really freaked me out the first time, but now that I know I'm not dying, it's just annoying.
Basically, nothing happened today.
We're going to watch "Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl" tonight, which should be awesome.
Uhm...
Wow, that's it. I'll just post my mega-lame Carpe Noctem thought and stop wasting your time:
-----------------------
One thing that really drives me crazy about today's culture is how quick we are to take things in. Or, to put it bluntly, how gullible everyone has become.
Appealing to authority: a logical fallacy when someone believes something just because so-and-so says.
Example: "Leaves DO SO turn purple when they fall off; my big brother says so!"
Everywhere you look, people are shouting out theories and guesses and sometimes even just LIES, and their audience is taking it in like it's proven fact.
Um, sorry, but for something to be "proven fact", it has to be PROVEN first.Think about all the stuff we Americans are taking in by the minute.
Tabloid gossip.
Global warming.
Evolution.
There are more, but those are the ones that come to mind, and that I'm going to try to focus on.
First of all, I completely understand why tabloids print such awful stuff about celebrities, and I can also understand why people read them. No problem there. The problem comes when the general public BELIEVES all that junk just because a trashy magazine says so. Puh-leez. Sure it's fun to read, but don't you think the writers of those magazines are going to try to put the worst and juciest spin on things?
That's kind of a minor issue in my book, though. So people believe gossip, okay. It's not a matter of life or death, or even public intelligence. It's just silly and vaguely annoying, but that's about it.
Now come the big two:
Global warming and Evolution.
I already ranted about global warming, so I won't do it again, don't worry. I'm just going to say that to believe in global warming, you're forced to rely on the least accurate and smallest pieces of information. If you ask any earnest scientist, s/he will tell you that as much comotion as people are making about GW, it's not really a problem. The earth naturally runs in cycles like this. In twenty years, we'll probably be going through a "global cooling" scare again.
Yes, AGAIN. That already happened. And now we're into global warming.
And the disgusting thing is, WE STILL BELIEVE IT!
COME ON, people! Global cooling? Global warming? They're just big hoaxes designed to get us all stirred up.
Don't believe me, though. I don't want you to do that.
I want you to go do some research for yourself. I've done mine, you do yours. Don't take stuff from me or even big shot scientists without looking into it a little. A little healthy skepticism never hurt anyone. In fact, it's actually been known to help occasionally. Especially in times like these when selective use of evidence is booming.
Which brings me to my final section of this tirade: Evolution.
*sigh*
If you believe in Evolution (capital "E"), you are going to skip this section, so I'm pretty much wasting my breath. Still, I'm going to try to straighten this out even a little.
First, define terms. This is really important, especially in an Evolution debate, because there are two definitions to Evolution, and I believe in one of them.
evolution: the belief that things change slightly over time to adapt to their surroundings.
Evolution: the belief that life began as an unguided fluke, then species gradually changed and mutated into completely different species.
Take a wild guess which one I believe? :)
There's really so much I could say about Evolution that I could do a whole series on it.
Which is exactly what I'm going to do.
I'm going to close this post, and begin my series on Evolution.
I'm sorry if this wasn't much of a post. I feel like I wasted a good thought. Hope you don't feel that way.

My Shallow Mind
Well, I got on the computer for like an hour and a half this morning, then spent the rest of it packing and taking a shower. I haven't had lunch yet. I'm just now getting hungry...
I had something really awesome to say, and I forgot it. Dang it.
Anyway, today is QUOTE DAY! I've missed these a lot lately. Okay. Quote:
"You can't cross a sea by merely staring into the water." - Rabindranath Tagore
Very true. I think a lot of times, I just stare into the water. I'm sort of a hesitant kind of person. I have to come up with all the reasons why I SHOULDN'T do something, and then counter all of them. I have to make sure that I really want to do something, that it's the best idea, etc. Unfortunately, I miss out on a lot of perfectly good, fun stuff because of that. I almost didn't go to the mini-camp thing, but then I thought, "Kendra, you never do anything. Like, ever. You're turning into a boring wall-flower and you need to get a life." So, I decided to go :D
I made a quiz on Facebook about myself. It's really hard, because some of the answers are almost ties, lol!
Blogger is still being stupid.
Uhm...I really wish I could remember what I was going to say. It was worth writing about, I remember that much. *sigh* My mind is so shallow. It must be all the computer time.
Which reminds me, I have to get off. I'm down to like twenty minutes of computer time left, and I haven't even written anything.
Shocker.
Anyway, I'm going to go have lunch and then finish packing. Maybe I'll call Ellie B. Although, she's at her cousin's so maybe that would be rude...whatever. I'm getting off. Talk to ya later!
CARPE TUUS (is that singular or plural?) DIEM!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
EDIT: Ohh, I just remembered that "carpe" is imperative, so the "you" is implied. DUH. So, forget the "tuus" anyway. Sorry. Okay, I'm really getting off now.
A Little Bit of Everything
VERY GOOD EXCUSE: My grandma had a heart catherazation and we had to go and see her and then bring her home and spend the night last night. So, I didn't just ditch posting or whatever :) (My grandma is okay.)
-----------------------
But I do have a Challenge!! Bwahahaha. Eat a War Head candy without making a face. Hah. Let me know how that goes, because I've never been able to do it. I love those things.
-----------------------
No Carpe Noctem thoughts today :( Sorry.
-----------------------
Okay! So...I finished driving!! We just have to call the Department of Non-public Education and have them send me some certificate of elegibility or something and then I can get my permit! *gasp* :) AWESOME!!
"Mirror" is okay. I'm back to writing it, but almost half-heartedly. I went back and read it, and I'm going to have A LOT of editing to do -_- There are so many things that are just unrealistic and almost silly. *sigh* Oh well.
Dang, I feel boring again. I'm sure I had something to say...DARN, WHAT WAS IT??
Well, I changed my profile picture on Gmail, and it randomly changed my picture for some other blogger stuff...*shrugs* It's been dong weird things like that lately. So annoying. So far on the pole, the second picture, the universe one, is winning. I agree. That one is my favorite, I think. So, I'll be changing my profile picture to her as soon as the poll is closed. If anyone hasn't voted who actually cares, vote now! Lol :)
My daddy is still in Jamaica, and he's having a good time it sounds like. He and the other guys went to the market today. How cool is that? In some ways, I wish I were there, too. In others, I'm glad I'm not. I'm weird that way. I love to travel, but I hate trying new food and the traveling part (the car ride or plane trip), I don't like. *shrugs* But Jamaica sounds SO cool.
Well, I don't have any more news, so I won't keep blogging about nothing :) Talk to ya later! Carpe diem!
Debates and Movie Dates (a.k.a. NOTHING)
TORI AND I WON DEBATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SWEETNESS! :D :D :D :D :D
Yes! I'm very excited about that. Affirmative, y'all did really well. Congrats! (Btw, I have never been on the losing team in debate. Ever. In four years of debate. I'm not bragging, I'm just saying I have a crazy lucky streak going. It can't last much longer. I probably just jinxed myself...that would suck, lol!)
Anyway, I had a KILLER headache this afternoon and around dinnertime, but it went away, so that's cool :)
Hopefully I will be watching Ferris Beuler's Day Off with my dad in like...four minutes. Hopefully. I'm not entirely convinced that A: I will remember that I'm looking forward to that in four minutes and totally forget to go upstairs and remind my dad and B: that he will be finished working enough to watch with me. We'll see.
Update on my possible eating problem: false alarm or something. My stomach doesn't hurt anymore. Maybe it was little virus or something. I dunno.
Creepy is okay. I don't feel blocked right now but I haven't really written anything for a few days (no, I wrote like a couple of paragraphs yesterday).
I'm kind of tired. I wasn't tired this morning when I got up (which is weird for me), but now I am. *shrugs*
I'm rambling. Sorry. Hang on; let me think of something of substance to say...
Nothing. (Seriously)
I'm trying to think of something worth throwing out for other people to read. And I'm coming up blank...
Well, my writer's block is gone! Yay! Kyle, thanks for the thing about Paige tripping. That totally losened me up, lol! I just reached over 42,000 words (yay), and have thought up some more plotline, which is always a good thing :)
Uhm...........yeah, it's really hard to focus on blogging when Darren and Paige are screaming at me to write more of their lives, so, I gotta go. :D Ttyl!
Uhhhhh...Blue is Creativity Inducing!
I'm at a roadblock in Creepy Story. Just don't know what to write...I know the next big thing that's going to happen, I just need some connecting pages to string it all along...
Oh, remember how I told you I was painting my walls in the new house blue? (No, you don't, but that's okay :D) Well, my dad just read to me in the paper the other day that blue stimulates creativity! Isn't that awesome? I'm going have an ultra-writing room! All I need now is a laptop to go in it...hehe :)
I'm starting to wonder if staring at a screen all day actually does melt your brain. I can't think straight and I'm extremely non-creative right now. Writer's block, laziness, maybe it all stems from the computer! Eek! Lol!
Seriously though, I have nothing to say. I know I say that a lot and then go on and on, but this time, I really got nothing...scary...
I'm Reading "The Host" and Some REALLY GREAT NEWS! (don't get too excited yet)
Today not very much happened. At all. We went to church, went out to eat with some people, saw a house that our family friend is building (he's a builder...lol sorry that was big DUH), went to youth group, and then watched Extreme Makeover: Home Addition. Yeah. It was a very boring day.
Like yesterday, I didn't even THINK anything interesting. Actually, wait. Yes, I did. But it's too personal to put on a public blog lol! :)
I'm reading this book called "The Host". It's written by Stephenie Meyer, the same person who wrote the "Twilight" books. "The Host" is really interesting. It set kind of in the future, and the human race is just so evil that in a last attempt to make peace, some people inject souls into people's bodies. The souls never argue or anything...okay, that was just confusing, wasn't it? Let me get an internet summary lol.....actually, never mind. I don't want to look up summaries on the internet because I'm afraid I'll accidentally find out the ending to the book, lol! Sorry! But I absolutely HATE IT when books get spoiled for me. HATE IT.
So yeah. That's all. :) TTYL! Hopefully, tomorrow I will have something a little more interesting to say. (Don't count on it though.)
OH WAIT!!!! I DO HAVE EXCITING NEWS!! (Don't get too excited, it might only be exciting to me :) ) NEW MOON (the second book in the "Twilight" series) COMES OUT AS A MOVIE THIS NOVEMBER ON THE 20TH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least it does in the US. Idk about other places lol sorry! :) So anyway, I am SO PUMPED!!!!!!!! Lol!
Like yesterday, I didn't even THINK anything interesting. Actually, wait. Yes, I did. But it's too personal to put on a public blog lol! :)
I'm reading this book called "The Host". It's written by Stephenie Meyer, the same person who wrote the "Twilight" books. "The Host" is really interesting. It set kind of in the future, and the human race is just so evil that in a last attempt to make peace, some people inject souls into people's bodies. The souls never argue or anything...okay, that was just confusing, wasn't it? Let me get an internet summary lol.....actually, never mind. I don't want to look up summaries on the internet because I'm afraid I'll accidentally find out the ending to the book, lol! Sorry! But I absolutely HATE IT when books get spoiled for me. HATE IT.
So yeah. That's all. :) TTYL! Hopefully, tomorrow I will have something a little more interesting to say. (Don't count on it though.)
OH WAIT!!!! I DO HAVE EXCITING NEWS!! A Boring Day
Hi! Today was my friend's first day at private school! Hope she had a good day...
Well, not very much at all has happened today. Like, really nothing. I haven't even THOUGHT anything interesting lol!
I'm a bit intimidated by the science research paper...not sure where to start, but I'll figure it out. Hey, the hard parts are (supposed to be) over. I've picked a topic done some research. *crosses fingers*
My writing has gotten a little better. For more than a week I had pretty bad writer's block, but I think it's better now. Hope it lasts :)
*sigh* There are some complications with moving in as soon as we had hoped. We haven't sold the house we live in now, and something is weird with the insurance with the new one. Not really sure of all the details, but it's really frustrating : I was also really counting on being able to have all my girl friends over for a sleepover, and this house isn't big enough :( We all thought we'd be moved in by now, and definitely by my birthday (February 7th). Oh well. It's all good. It'll happen.
Well, maybe I'll post later when I've got more to say. Lol, for someone who has nothing to say I sure can talk a lot :) I have dance class tonight so maybe there will be some interesting things to say about that.
