Washington DC!

Maybe you remember last year, my class went on a 10th grade trip to Washington? Well, we're going again. We are in 11th grade. We're not supposed to go. But, as usual, my class has decided that we are the best class in the world and are therefore allowed to participate in trips for any grade we've been through XD

It's kind of hilarious actually. You should see us crash 8th chili day...

Anyway, we're going to DC :) Today. I'm extremely excited. It's not supposed to rain EVERY DAY or be FREEZING every day, so that's a plus. Also, I don't have the worst sore throat ever this year. YAYAYAY.

The history will mean a lot more this year, too, since I'm taking American History. I'm actually excited about the history itself and not just spending time with some of my best friends.

I might post while I'm gone, but I dunno :)

Be back Saturday! Expect pictures!

~Kendra

P.S. The picture of Evil Inc. to the right is not how I feel about Washington or anything, I just wanted something with a big building/monument XD Just thought I'd clear that up.

I'm in Love

Aaah! I did it! I got side bangs! And about two inches off, and more layers. And guess what?

Oh. You read the title?

Well, fine, yes :P I LOVE IT. It's my new favorite hair cut :D

Captions on the bottom.

Before I straightened my "old" hair.

After I straightened my "old" hair.

MY NEW HAIR!

Finally

Y'all know I've been having kind of a rough time lately. Well, these past few days have been just what I needed :)

Sunday:
Play practice went great! My dad took me and we talked a lot in the car. I love that. I don't really talk to him like I used to, and I miss that.

After play practice, I came home and just sat in the living room with my mom and dad :) Sometimes it's nice just to be around. We watched some TV and I colored XD [Shut up. You're never too old to color.]

After dinner, my dad and I walked down to the lake to feed the fish. The sun was shining just right and you see the little swarms of gnats near the water. A boat motor made a loud sound and all the gnats JUMPED! It was the funniest thing! My dad wondered if you could make them jump with your voice. He said "JUMP" in a low voice and...

They did! It was really weird, and equally hilarious.

We went back to the house and Daddy watered the grass while I kicked the soccer ball and played basketball. When he was done, he played with me. I got six shots in a row, which was good for that night. I was missing like 80% of all the shots I took XD

I picked daisies for my mom.

It was a great day.

Monday:
Memorial Day!
"I'm proud to be an American, Where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died, Who gave that right to me."

We can't forget :)

To celebrate Memorial Day, we went down to the lake! My friend Brianna and her little brother Michael came over, and we went down to the beach. Before long, lots of other people had joined us. A few hours into swimming and having fun, a thunderstorm came up! We got a canopy up just in time.

I love thunderstorms. And this one was cool. Not the most amazing one ever, but it had a giant crack of thunder that made me grin.

Some of the kids, including Matt, were actually in the water when lightning struck nearby. Matt said he felt like someone had kicked him in the chest. I wasn't in the water when it happened. I was jealous XD

The whole day was just amazing. Hanging out with friends, doing random things, I even got to DRIVE MY DAD'S CAR. In the neighborhood, but still, with just me and Brianna in the car. Please don't have me arrested.

Tuesday:
I slept late and just kind of chilled around the house. My mom and Lizzy are at a practicum, so it's just me and Daddy at home. We went to this new frozen custard place, which was awesome. Then we went to Wal-Mart to get stuff on a massive list I had just made XD I also got CHEAP CLOTHES! Who doesn't love cheap clothes? I got a skirt and a shirt for a grand total of $9.70. Alriight XD

We ate at Subway.

Play practice went amazing. I'm learning the dances better than I thought.

Daddy and I watched episodes of The Office :) I love that show.

Today:
Another sleeping in day. It felt great.

I laid outside in the sun for a while. It felt soo nice out. I'm not really one of those girls who can just "go out and tan". I get really bored really fast XD But I'm pale. So, I took notebooks, books, and my iPod and managed to stay quite happy for about an hour. Then I got up and played basketball until I satisfied myself with a beautiful three-pointer.

After dinner tonight, a thunderstorm blew up. It was so beautiful. Daddy and I went out on the screened-in porch and watched the bright lightning and listened to the thunder. I love those peals where you can hear where the crack starts, and then follow it as it rips around the sky :)
Daddy had to go to band practice for our church, but I stayed outside and listened to the storm. God is so cool, you know? I think thunderstorms are one of his finest ideas :) It even inspired me to write a little. A beginning of a story that will never go anywhere, but hey, I like it.

So basically, I've been having an amazing past few days. It's finally starting to seem like the best summer ever.

Audition Results

Well, the cast list for "The King and I" has been posted. I really wanted to play Eliza, the main character in the ballet portion. Of course, this is only my second play, there were several good dancers and the audition instructor had me doing the part of the Angel the whole time, so I knew what to expect when the list was published.

Which is why it shocked me so much when I got Eliza.

I was so shocked when I saw my name next to Eliza. I gasped, jumped out of the chair and covered my mouth XD A pretty cliche reaction, but the truth all the same. Lizzy asked me what was wrong and I told her I was Eliza. She was thrilled for me. I then ran upstairs to share the news with my parents.

I'll be honest, I know I can dance. I'm not pulling false modesty there, I'm a pretty good dancer. But I just knew that someone else would be better, and better suited to the part. I was hoping for Eliza, but not really expecting her.

I just can't believe it. I'm so excited.

If you want to see what I'll be doing, here is the ballet on Youtube.

Part I
Part II

Thank you so, so, SO much for all your prayers! I know they helped!

Musical Roots

I must be bipolar XD But this is going to be a happy post. Know why?

I FINALLY DECIDED ON A MUSIC LECTURE IDEA. AND I FREAKING LOVE IT.

The assignment: Pick three different styles of music and analyze and compare them.

Deciding was my biggest hurdle. I couldn't settle on anything. I thought of doing three things that I thought would have nothing in common like Classical, country and death metal. I really wanted to do, like, subgenres of metal. Lots of people (especially the people in my class) think it all sounds the same. I thought it would be really interesting and fun to analyze some different types. Unfortunately, my teacher and most of my classmates would hate that -_- Also, to do the idea justice, I felt like I'd need more time than I had.

Then my mom had the idea to take three kinds of music that built on each other. I liked that idea, but I still didn't know what to pick...

(The project is due Tuesday by the way. We've had all semester to work on it. Heh.)

I began researching stuff like "music family tree" and "roots of music" and "music genome project". I was coming up blank and getting more frustrated by the second. Finally, I'd had it with the whole thing. I decided to pray. I probably should had done that earlier, but I'm never sure how much time God wants to spend on my petty little academic issues...

Anyway, while I was asking God for suggestions (XD), I got an idea.

"What if I take Classical music, trace that through, like, Stravinsky, and then...I wonder if there's a kind of metal that comes from that..."

I did some research. There is a direct line from Classical, to Neo-Classical (Stravinsky), to Neo-Classical metal.

How. Perfect. Is. That.

I actually kinda screamed for happiness. (No one was home, so it was okay XD) I spent the next two hours completely fascinated and excited about my project. This stuff is so fascinating, people! Oh my gosh! I can't remember the last time I enjoyed school so much! I might do this in my spare time!

I got a little sidetracked with my keyboard, though. I do not play the keyboard, but before long I had "Happy Birthday", "What Child Is This?" and some of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" figured out. I was really excited :D

My dad says I have all this natural music talent. I'm not sure. I don't think I'm particularly gifted, but maybe. *shrug* It's interesting me more and more for sure.

And guess what? I'mma have another ring soon. So yay.

*doesn'tgrindoesn'tgrindoesn'tgri--okay, GRINS*

I'm really thrilled about the music lecture. I can't even tell you how excited I am. I'm just really pumped :D :D :D

A Happy Ending, But...

Well. Today was preeeetty awful.

#1: Woke up to an angry mother.
#2: Got my cell phone taken away.
#3: Did not get enough school done.
#4: My mom's students came this afternoon, which translates to no computer use and no desk chair in my room -_-
#5: A girl stepped on my toe at dance. In a tap shoe. It kills -_-

And then the worst:

#7: My ring broke. The one I replaced my mood ring with. The one that was my favorite.

:-/ >.< :( :'(

I should have taken if off before dance. But being the incredibly intelligent individual I am, I did not. So now it's busted. Into three pieces. I only found two.

Only now today doesn't suck AS much anymore because SOMEONE just made me laugh my head off and smile and grin, so...whatcha gonna do? Did today suck, or is all well that end's well?

I'm going with a happy ending fixes everything.

At least until I remember my ring is busted and my mood ring is somewhere at Great Wolf Lodge and so my ring finger feels all naked and sobbing and my toe--

Never mind. All's well that ends well XD

Brief Explanation and Today

First: Sorry about yesterday XD And sorry to anyone I came in contact with yesterday. Bad day. I realized I'd left my phone charger at Great Wolf Lodge, my jaw popped out of joint, one of my friends was letting his giant crush show more than usual, I still couldn't (and can't) find my mood ring, I discovered things about a friend that I'd rather not have found out, etc. etc. etc. Just a really bad day.

And the next day was Monday, which only added to my misery. Monday's suck, in case you didn't know.

Today...kinda sucked. It could have been a lot better, it could have been a lot worse. But, I'm going to focus only on the good.

Good Things About Today:
- I wasn't super tired when I woke up.
- I actually really loved "A Morbid Taste For Bones" that we read for school.
- I got the new Alice in Wonderland soundtrack on iTunes, and I love it.
- I discovered that I still have a giant Hershey kiss from Valentine's Day and dug into that.
- My mom is letting me finish my Brahms paper on Wednesday instead of me bleeding out my eyes trying to write it at the computer right now. (That didn't make sense...but whatever. I'm tired.)
- I'm actually tired and I want to go to bed, which doesn't usually happen at such a good time.
- I successfully reminded my classmates that my teacher's birthday is tomorrow, and we're all making goodies and cards for her.
- I got a very encouraging comment.

Hah, wow, I didn't realize all those good things happened :D I feel even better now. Yay.

This is the end of the real post, but I found an interesting "tag" on Facebook today, and I want to post it. It's kind of odd and not really relevant to anything, but here it is:

Boys are always good with their words, Am I right?
Some boys really are. In my experience, mostly they are not XD

Do you believe "drunken words are sober thoughts"?
No.

How about all girls are b*****s. Correct?
All girls CAN be, but not all are all the time.

When someone says "we need to talk," what runs through your mind?
Usually I’m really up for it. I like talking about stuff, especially the “hard” stuff for some reason.

What’s the last movie you watched? With who?
“The Sister Act” with my family :)

When was the last time you wanted to punch someone in the face?
Hmm, lol, I don’t know.

Do you know anyone who always looks perfect?
I used to, but lately I’ve started to realize that perfect is almost relative. Sooner or later your personality starts to show in your face, and then those perfect people don't look quite so perfect anymore XD

Two wrongs don't make a right, Correct?
Technically, they don’t. But sometimes the way we think…

Do you think relationships are hard?
Uh, definitely, but they can also be more than worth it.

Is there someone who meant a lot to you at one point, and isn't around now?
Definitely.

Can money buy happiness?
Yep. Happiness comes from things or circumstances. HAPPiness comes from HAPPenings. But JOY; that comes from God and from your attitude.

What do you hear right now?
“Her Name Is Alice” by Shinedown from the new Alice in Wonderland soundtrack.

If you had a tree that could grow anything you want, what would it grow?
Is Time too abstract? If so, then money.

Do you know anyone who's been in jail?
Mhmm.

What is your favorite color?
Green

Do you have a lighter on you?
Hah, no.

Could you go a month without talking to your best friend?
Yeah. But it kinda sucks.

Have you ever sat in the back of a police car?
No XD

Would you say you’re emotionally strong?
I usually am in front of people, but in private…no.

What’s worse, ignorance or stupidity?
Stupidity. Ignorance can be taken care of, but stupidity is a mindset and it’s totally your own fault.

Do you know anyone, who doesn’t smoke pot?
Uh, yes. Plenty XD

Think, what do you want more than anything?
Structure.

Would you rather have long or short hair?
Eh, I’m not sure. I hate having REALLY short hair, but really long hair makes me look like a hippie…

Do you follow your head or your heart?
Normally my head.

Do you ever get so frustrated that you just wanna cry?
Yesss.

After taking a shower, do you change in the bathroom or in your bedroom?
The bathroom. My house is freezing. I like to stay in the warmness as long as possible XD

Which would you rather, grow old with somebody or alone?
With someone for sure.

Your lost in the middle of nowhere, without a phone to call for help, What would you do?
Well, what kind of “nowhere” are we talking about? At first I pictured a desert, but, I mean, >insert name of my town< style="font-weight: bold;">What will you be doing in 15 mins?
Writing a paper I should have written about five days ago.

What's your middle name?
Cinderbelle XD No, it’s Marielle.

Have you ever given up on someone but then went back to them?
Lols, kind of.

Do you have someone of the opposite sex you can tell anything to?
Yes.

Have you ever dated two people at once?
I’ve never dated anyone. So no.

Who was the last person to piss you off?
It’s not usually a person, it’s more like…me.

Are you Asian?
Lol, I am not.

Are you happy right now?
Sort of...yeah.

What age do you want to get married?
Early-ish twenties. Like 24.

What's a line from the song you're listening to?
“But all I feel is strange.” – from “Strange” by Tokio Hotel and Kerli

Are you a bad influence?
It depends on what kind of bad influence you mean.

Do you get jealous easily?
It’s not exactly “jealous”, just kind of…sad-skeptical-unsure. Lol.

Is it usually easy for someone to make you smile?
Depends on the person.

Is tomorrow going to be a good day?
Possibly. I guess it depends on me.

Ever cried while you were on the phone with someone?
Yeah, but I’m a quiet crier, so I’m not sure they knew, lol XD

What color's your shirt?
Black.

Do you like to be tickled?
I’m not ticklish, so I can’t say. But I kind of wish I were ticklish, lol.

Are you dying to take off your clothes?
Uh. No…

Do you care too much/not at all/just enough?
Mostly not enough, but in some areas, too much.

Have you ever kissed someone with the same first initial as you?
Lols, no… XD

Who would you want to be tied to for 24 hours?
Probably no one. Being tied to anything sounds horrible to me.

What should we do w/ stupid people?
I like Kathryn’s answer: “Feed them to sharks.”

What was the first thing you did this morning?
I dunno…I think I probably texted someone.

Are you spoiled?
Nooo.

How do you vent your anger?
I mostly try to keep it inside and it leaks out on people until it’s all gone, lol.

Would you ever join the military?
I’ve thought about it, but I don’t think I’m tough enough, lol.

The last website you visited?
Holly Schindler: Novel Anecdotes to read her interview with one of my favorite bloggers, Sam from One Sparkling Star!

Who was the last person you took a picture with?
I don’t remember.

Today, would you rather go back a week or go forward a week?
Forwards. Let’s get through the remaining six weeks of school as freaking quickly as possible.

If you read all that, you get...a virtual cookie :D Here you go. *hands cookie*

Have a good day :) Remember the good stuff. It kinda helps.

Going to Great Wolf

Tomorrow I'm leaving for Great Wolf Lodge. It's this hotel with a huge indoor water park. It's basically awesome. We're leaving after lunch tomorrow and getting back Saturday night, so don't expect posts :)

Today was good. I really don't wanna talk about school and cleaning. I just want to talk about tonight.

We had a church leadership meeting at my house, so Daniel (16), David (15), Matt (13), Katie (11, ), Abby (7) and Jarrod (9) (and their parents, obviously XD) all came over. They're all my unbiological siblings :D We had so much fun. Matt was hilarious as always, and everyone else was fun, too. I just love my extended family :)

Are y'all surprised that I'm still really happy? This is day... *counts* ...eleven of being really happeh. I'm definitely surprised, but pleasantly so. Let the good feelings continue :)

Cavender is going skiing this weekend. Just...by the way. Lols, I don't know why I just randomly stuck that in there XD

Anyway, I probably won't talk to y'all until Sunday! Have a great weekend!

:) Full Moons

Today was a full moon. I could honestly tell before I even knew; my class gets crazy when it's a full moon. I love it. We get louder and funnier and closer and participate more. We become the class I loved in eighth grade instead of the class I've grown to dislike through ninth. It's great.

Guess what?

It's snowing :) Again. Again again AGAIN again. Fourth noteworthy snow of the winter. In my yard, there has only been ONE DAY this ENTIRE WINTER that we didn't have snow somewhere. That was yesterday. No lie.

I had gotten really tired of the snow, but now that's it's all gone...I don't mind having a little more :) And it looks sooo beautiful falling. Daddy and Lizzy were just out on the porch catching snowflakes in their hot chocolate :) Life is good, you know?

I know I haven't been posting things of much substance lately...My life isn't really boring right now, but most of what goes on is...just not blog material. Not yet.

I'm really happy, y'all. I think it's a combination of a lot of things, really. But for whatever reason, I'm really happy. So...yay :)

Enjoy your snow if you have any, and enjoy your full moon :)

Day Five On This Alien Cloud of Joy

It's not like I don't feel the sad/crappy/annoying/suckish things that happen, it's just like they roll off because I have better reasons to be happy.

School is going fine. Nothing to report there.

Writing is nonexistent. But I'll get inspired sooner or later.

Family is a'ight, which is basically as good as it gets XD

Sickness is getting better. Now my throat just hurts, but I think it's from coughing. I got sick of being sick yesterday and decided I'd be done with it today. So far so good. I've scheduled myself to be 150% back to normal by Saturday at the latest, lol :D

Guess what happened Monday? ELLIE (bff :D) TURNED SWEET SIXTEEN!!!!!!! WooT! :D

Music: I'm swimming in glorious iTunes cash from my birthday :D And I want more music. But I'm being really picky and I can't find anything I want. I dunno. Any suggestions? In general, I have really eclectic taste in music. However, I don't do country, Disney stars trying to sound sexy, or praise-and-worship type stuff (like, I don't really enjoy Michael W. Smith, lol). So...lol, if you're dying to help me out, I need music XD

Other awesomeness: Cavender is coming to church on Sunday :) And then he's coming to my house, then to a friend's birthday party with me. Awesome.

That's all. kBai.

Day Four!

I'm really confused. I'm not an excessively moody person, but I never stay this happy for so long at a time, especially not when cruddy stuff happens. And yet, here I am. This is my...*counts*...fourth day of being really happy. But I guess if you're going to get stuck on one mood, might as well be happy, right? :D

I'm sick. I have a cough, and that achy feeling that makes your skin hurt -_-

Hmm...I'm not going to dance tonight. *sigh* With a cough, I think jumping around in a hot room would pretty much suck :( This is my second week in a row missing it, though. Ugh, I hate missing dance. It makes my feet go crazy at inopportune moments XD

If you have a Facebook, you should become a fan of this little guy: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1199124401#!/pages/Jaxon-Jarman/301478489274?ref=nf He's basically the best little thing since sliced bread.

Uhm...aaaaaand that's all for now folks :) I'm not thinking particularly deep thoughts with my head all fuzzy >.< In a few days I should be back to the Kendra you know and love (or hate XD).

Random Good Day and a Quote

Today was good :D

Hah, sorry, I'm getting repetitive. But these past three days have been really good :D I luv mah life right now. I'm quite happyyyyyyyy. I'm ridiculously happy.

*clears throat*

So, first, the Latin test results:

I GOT A 92!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really think it's 'cause of all the praying. No lie. Because I got ridiculously lucky. I only studied ONE SENTENCE out of the suggested HUNDREDS. It was the one on the test O.o WooT XD

We dissected a frawg. His insides were colorful O.o We thought ours was really buff at first. He had a six pack. But then we got in there and took out, like, a TON of fat bodies (kewl, yellow fingery things XD). He was, like, sumo-frawg.

*is irritated at her use of "like" and the suffix "-y"*

I feel like a bubble-head right now.

*deletes the shallow sentences she had going*

Okay, if I can't say anything of substance, lemme leave you with a quote at least:

"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."
- Napoleon Bonaparte

I really love this quote XD

~Kendra

P.S. I might be getting sick...>.< But I'm still really happy :D

Good Day

Today was kind of *headspins*. I knocked out all my school work. Like, an entire WEEK'S WORTH of school work. Today. Wanna know how? It's this great strategy called Hole-Up-In-Your-Room-And-Don't-Look-At-The-Computer-All-Day XD

I do have a Latin test tomorrow, though, so if y'all wouldn't mind saying a little prayer for me tomorrow morning? Latin has gotten very difficult lately. We're getting to all the irregularities and things are quite hard to keep straight >.<

Other than school, today has been...well, I haven't done anything other than school! But yesterday was good. I got some things worked out that I've been over-analyzing for like two months. That relieved about 70% of my mental pressure, which enabled me to focus a lot more on school.

I am basically kinda ridiculous. Whenever I have a problem, I think about it 24/7 (dreams included) until I do something about it. Not until I DECIDE to do something, until I DO it. I'm quite obsessive. About everything. So yeah.

Anyway.

I do still have about 200 pages of "Robinson Crusoe" to go. Heh. I'm thinking 10-11:30 I'll read. I'm sure I can knock that out. Then tomorrow morning, I will squeeze in some more Latin. Doesn't that sound like a wise way of working? (Shut up :P)

Okay, well, I don't feel like saying anything more, lol XD Today was really good despite all the school. Yay :) Wow.

~Kendra

Today Sucks. Yesterday Rocked.

This SUCKS.

*rips hair out*

Yeah, it's kinda been one of THOSE days -_-

My school work went/is going really terribly today. And it's basically my fault. It's just been one of those days where I can't get myself motivated, and I want to do/think about other things.

I don't LIKE being lazy. But it is so hard to change :-| So, overall today has sucked, and is still sucking. Really bad. And me sitting here typing this when I should be doing SO MANY OTHER THINGS isn't helping anything. But here I am :-|

So, yesterday was Valentine's Day, and I didn't blog. *sigh* Ah, well. I did that epic V-Day Eve post, so that counts for something, right? *shrug*

Valentine's Day was good. Actually, no, it was a heckuvalot better than "good". It was pretty much AWESOME :D

I got woken up at 7:30, which wasn't a great start, but there was a good reason: the Heart Trail. Every Valentine's Day, Lizzy and I wake up to a trail of paper hearts leading us to our Valentine's Day candy and presents! :D I'm never gonna be too old for that. I asked my mom if she'll come do it for my college dorm XD

I got CANDY and a cute Valentine's Day shirt. I wore the shirt to church

Church was good. It was the ten year anniversary, so we had a slide show with pictures of everyone in all the different buildings we've met in. Matt and Katie and Lizzy and I were so little and cute! Especially them, lol. No so much me XD I just looked like an annoying, little version of how I am now. Matt and Lizzy's hair used to be almost white-blonde, and Katie was just plain ADORABLE. Curls and lil' chubby cheeks XD Those three are the cutest kids in the whole world (with the possible exception of Kyle's little siblings).

After church we went over to Matt and Katie's house with a bunch of other people. Lunch was tacos. Everyone had trouble eating them, lol! We ended up kinda messy XD

After lunch, I felt awkward. I know it seems rude, but some of the girls...I just feel stupid around them >.< Like they're so much cooler than I am that everything I say comes out lame. So, I opted for antisocial and went upstairs to watch Matt and his two friends play Modern Warfare 2 :-| I feel sort of bad for "ditching" the girls, though :-/

The boys were fine with me hanging out with them. They're used to it. I think they actually like me, at least sometimes. I can't offer any game advice, but I'm sarcastic enough that I provide some comic relief XD

Matt has read all the Harry Potter books apparently O.O I'm still on four...I can't believe it. My little brother reads faster than me now?? Crazy times, people. I wouldn't mind so much if he'd keep his mouth shut, but he just HAS to spoil everything he can think of -_- I spent like five solid minutes with my hands over my ears doing the standard, "LALALALA...".

I think he started to actually get a little bored with MW2 after a while. He went and got the third book in the Percy Jackson series and started reading O.o How did I miss this facet of his personality?? I didn't even know he liked to read much less INSTEAD of video games! :O

I'd read the first book in the series, and part of the second one, but I'd never finished it. Matt gave me the second one and we started reading. We scared his friend with our lovely, wholesome interest >:D

After Friends A and B left, Matt and I just read in the movie room until Mr. Leon came up and said we were being antisocial. *sigh* So we had to go down and mingle, lol XD

Then there was youth group. It was a tad boring.

Then my family went out to dinner at JP Looney's. That was good. We called Matt and Katie to see if they wanted to eat with us, but they were tired from all the company, so we just got wings to bring home to them.

Don't you love friends that you can just walk in on and they don't think anything of it?

We got to Matt and Katie's house with the wings and Matt came to the door. He blinked,

"Y'all come late..."

Lols XD

We walked in and put the wings on the counter. Katie was studying for a Latin test and was really worried about it, so I sat down and helped her. Matt ate wings and read Percy Jackson. My mom and Mrs. Martha went to the bedroom and talked secrets apparently. Katie tried going in several times and got shooed out. Lol *shrug* The dads just sat talking and watched the Olympics.

Their house feels like a second home. I love them.

Then we came home, and I talked to Cavender :D :D :D :D :--Yeah, lotsa smilies, ANYWAY. Advance claiming FTW ;)

Then I kinda vegged out on the couch 'cause I was starting not to feel good :-| I watched the Olympics and texted someone...*cough* Cavender *cough* Then I watched Wizards of Waverly Place for a little while, hoping I would stop feeling sick to my stomach -_- I did.

Then...I went to bed :D And slept until 8:30 this morning.

So. Yesterday rocked. Today sucked/is sucking :D/-_-

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Wow, I've definitely seen some snow before, but this has to be the best ever! We've had MORE before, but never this fun! I'm telling you, this is ideal. The world is covered in a seven-inch blanket of clean snow. It's powdery on the top, with a harder, icy layer, and then more powder. PERFECT snowball snow!

My family went out around 9:30 this morning and went to the end of the street where there's a good hill that ends in a cul-de-sac. Pretty soon, the whole street + Matt and Katie's family had joined us! Everyone brought sleds and we all took lots of turns flying down the steep street.

It didn't take long for Lizzy (13) and Katie (11) to start a snowman. Matt (13), Cody (14), Anthony (8?) and I had a snowball fight!! Cody and I took the ditch on one side of the road, Matt and Anthony took the other. It. Was. Awesome.

But icy snowballs can sure pack a punch, let me tell you! Haha, one thing I like about playing with boys: they don't cry when you actually hit them and they actually try to hit you back, LOL :) Of course, before too long, we all gave up on staying on our own sides and just went for each other :)

Now, in some neighborhoods, the grownups stand around, talk, and smile lovingly at their kids.

Well, not in my neighborhood! Boy, you've never seen a snowball fight until you see Mrs. Martha (Matt and Katie's mom) and Mr. Jeff (another neighbor) go at each other with wads of snow!! :) Pretty soon all the adults were in on it, chucking snow and ducking! Of course, we kids joined in and a massive snow-war ensued :) Matt hit me in the head like four times, but I retaliated >:D I may not be able to throw as far as he can, but I can throw a mean, close-range snowball when you're least expecting it. Bull's-eye every time ;)

This is going to sound cheesy, but I'm so thankful for my warm clothes! Usually I get too cold and miserable to play after about an hour, but thanks to my HUGE silver coat, I never felt the chill! I actually got hot! I was able to play for a wonderful two-and-a-half hours before heading inside to eat tomato soup and grilled cheese :)

It's times like this that I know God is looking down at us and smiling :) You know what I think? I think God would like to play in the snow with us. I know God likes to have fun. I can just see his face right now, laughing at us with pure joy in his kind eyes.

And I want him on my side in a snowball fight :)

Well, now the moment you've all been waiting for...PICTURES! Finally you can put a face on some of these names I'm always tossing around.

Click to enlarge, captions at the top!

The whole street came out! I'm the one with the goofy sky-blue pants and pink hat :) My momma is the one in the red coat to the left of me. The reddish-pink coat to my right is my second momma :) Mrs. Martha (Matt and Katie's mom) My dad is in the middle of the picture, behind the sled, haha!
My neighbor Cody is the guy in the black jacket with the hood, Matt is the guy with the gray coat that has yellow accents. The sledding hill (it gets a lot steeper as you go down)! My dog, Licorice, is in the middle of the road, and the two snowball teams are in the ditches.
Weee!!! :) Cody in the black, me in the silver, Matt in the gray on his stomach.More sledding! Here's Lizzy and Katie on the sled. Lizzy is the one standing, Katie is sitting.Momma and Mrs. Martha being pushed by my daddy :) I'm in the background, Katie's in the foreground.Sledding is so much fun...until you have to walk back up the hill! Left to right: Mr. Jeff, Daddy, Cody, me.The long trudge back didn't seem to bother Matt and Anthony!Snowball fight!!!! Team one: Me and CodyTeam two: Anthony and Matt
Lizzy and Katie's snowman being admired: Matt in the gray, Anthony in the yellow, Katie in the purple, Lizzy in the navy, and Mr. Wayne (he's the funniest guy ever) in the blue.My little town :) Isn't it beautiful in the snow? I'm proud to be a smalltown girl! :)You just can't beat days like this, you know?

What? I forgot the Christmas Countdown? Nah, it's here :) See the six smiling faces? Me, Cody, Matt, Lizzy, Katie and Anthony. After all, that's one of the best things about Christmas! The joy we experience when wondering at the awesome things our savior has made.

MERRY SIX-DAYS-UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

P.S. If you haven't seen the Phineas and Ferb Christmas Special, I highly recommend it :) We watched it for the second time today, all curled up on the couch in front of the fire! So funny!

SNOW! :O

VOTE ON THE POLL TO THE RIGHT.

IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!! IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!! BIG, GIGANTIC, GOOSE-FEATHER FLAKES!!!!!!!! AND LITTLE TINY MEAN-BUSINESS FLAKES!!!!!!!!! AND FLURRIES!!!!!!!!!! AND IT'S

STICKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the kind of happy that you can't convey with typed words. You have to see me beaming; you have to see my eyes lighting up; you have to watch me clap my hands; you have to see me pressing my face to the window; you have to watch me jump up and down by the window. You have to hear me giggling like a five-year-old; you have to hear me screaming through the house. You have to hear me walk around in wonder saying, "Look how soft it looks!" and "It's sticking!!" and "Look how pretty it looks in the woods!" and "Look! Narnia!" (And no one is even home to hear me!)

This is the first snow in the new house, so it's especially special. But really, snow it so fun and awesome. I'm bouncing in my seat! I love this!

And to make matters even specialer,

MY MOM AND I ARE GOING TO BAKE SUGAR COOKIES AND DECORATE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:O :O :O :O :O :O

WE NEVER DO THAT!!!!!! WE'RE GOING TO BE LIKE A REAL HOLIDAY FAMILY AND BAKE COOKIES!!!!

And to make things EVEN BETTER:

ONLY SEVEN (7) {septus} [one week] DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!

OH MY GOODNESS! CAN TODAY GET ANY FUNNER?????

Yes. Let's watch Alias and have it be an episode with Mr. Sark.

No, just kidding.

NO, NOTHING CAN MAKE THIS DAY BETTER! Of course, I will be glad to be proven wrong for once ;)

But, what shall we do for the Christmas Countdown?

SEVEN THINGS TO DO IN THE SNOW, OF COURSE, SILLY:

1. Snowball fight!

2. Snowman

3. Snowangel

4. Catch it on your tongue :D

5. Make snow slushies (snow + Kool-Aid of your choice)

6. Watch it and get inspired

7. Go on Lamppost hunts

I will be posting pictures later, so expect a second post :)

MERRY SEVEN-DAYS-UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. AND THANKS FOR FOLLOWING, KARIS!!!

CrAzy Trees and the Number 24

Thanks for following, ***Emily***!!!

TWENTY-FOUR DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

...so why does my countdown say 22? Good question! I have no idea. I set it to count down to December 25th...*shrug* Ah well. You get the idea.

Speaking of ideas, I've decided to do both Christmas ideas, the countdown and the daily Christmas...thing. So, something interesting about the number 24...

24: Subtracting one from any of its divisors (except 1 and 2, but including itself) yields a prime number. 24 is the largest number with this property, for to have this property a number cannot be divisible by a prime greater than three, nor can it be divisible by 9 or 16.

Kind of a "brainful", isn't it?

Now, in the spirit of preparing for Christmas, here are nine Christmas trees! Enjoy!

Serious recycling goin' on...

Hmm, she's really putting herself into her decorations...
Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!Whoa! Who came up with this??
A Christmas tree made out of CDs!
I don't even want to think about how long it took to free up all those bottles...
Colorful, earth-friendly, what's not to like?
I'm not really sure what this is...
God bless AmericaMERRY TWENTY-FOUR-DAYS-UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

P.S. I think I'm going to start doing every-other day. Tomorrow I'll just do something about the number 23, Friday I'll do a Christmas thing, and so on.
