So, I think we can all agree on a few things:
1) Texting is becoming increasingly popular
2) Teens text a LOT
3) There are both pros and cons to texting
Today I want to focus on the pros, The Good.
While it's easy to see why lots of people (primarily adults) have problems with SMS, there are a lot of really helpful things about it. First good thing, convenience.
Texting is extremely convenient. You whip out your phone, press a few buttons, and you've communicated. Simple, fast, and discreet. It's especially helpful in situations where you want to do something under the radar. Quickly texting your parents to get you out of a party with drugs and alcohol. Texting a friend to remind them not to say anything about a surprise party. Letting your mom know that Dad's home so she can hide his birthday present. Things like that are MUCH harder to do when you have to make a phone call. Sure, you can leave the room if you're discussing something private, but in the case of surprises or awkward situations, that just makes it worse.
Texting instead of calling also provides you with time to consider your response. Something a lot of people struggle with is saying things they later regret. With a text, you can read it, think about it, and type drafts of what you want to say. If you're on the phone with someone, there's only so long you can think before the silence goes way past awkward. There are some things you'd rather not answer at all, and texts are much easier to ignore than someone yelling in your ear.
There are also fewer misunderstandings in writing. With all the he said-she said junk that can go on, it's helpful to have records of what was said. It's a lot simpler if you're in a crowd or somewhere loud, too. Getting a text that says, "This is the longest hour of my life" will never be misunderstood as "I'm having an affair with your wife." When people are yelling at each other through cellphones, stuff like that could, and does, happen XD
It's also easier to remember information . If someone texts your their house address, you can refer back to it instead of trying to hold it in your mind as you drive.
Then, the most popular reason to text: It's just less awkward. All the above reasons play into this. You can respond when you want to. You can ignore it if you want to. You can think about your response. There are no awkward silences. There are fewer misunderstandings. It's easier to remember things. It's just less awkward! People that you would NEVER feel comfortable phoning you can text. It's like email. Or IM. For one reason or another, texting is a more comfortable and safe-feeling way to communicate than calling.
And there you have it. The Good of texting.
It's convenient.
It's quick.
It's discreet.
It provides time to consider a response.
It eliminates awkward silences.
It removes more misunderstanding.
It makes things easier to remember.
It's just less awkward.
'Course there are some definite downsides to texting. Stick around for The Bad ;)

tExTiNg PaRt TwO: Where do we stand?
Thanks for following, Gwyn and Kate! That's awesome :)
If you missed Part One: Intro, you can click HERE to read it.
So, before I got more into texting, I wanted to know more about how it started, and where we stand now.
Texting was originally called "SMS", or "Short Message Service". It started in 1992, when a test engineer for Airwide Solutions named Neil Papworth sent “Merry Christmas” from a computer to the phone of Richard Jarvis.
Growth was slow at first. In 1995, the average number of daily messages in America was .4. Yeah, not four. POINT four. In 2000, the average number had risen to 35. Then in 2008, the average number of monthly text messages was 357.
Now, the average number of texts sent monthly in teens is 2272. (However, if you divide that out, that's only an average of about 75 texts per day. Bad, but not THAT bad XD) The number of text messages far outweigh the number of calls, even in most adults.
But how does texting affect us? I'm gonna get to that more later in The Good and then The Bad, but I will say this: Studies and statistics show that it’s addicting and can cause focus issues when one is so constantly connected.
Bummer -_-
Not that I have to worry about any of this anymore since my texting has been suspended XD But here's an interesting piece of information for you...
Did you know it's possible to text phones without having texting? Can you say...Gmail's etexting? >:D If you want more on that, you can email me (livinglovinglaughinglearning@gmail.com) ;)
Stay tuned for Part 3: The Good.

tExTiNg PaRt OnE: Intro
Some of you may know that I have a cell phone. Some more of you may know that it is a red LG Shine that hates me. Even more of you might know that I like to text. Very few of you know that I lost this privilege yesterday.
Why? My parents don't want me texting too much. They feel like it's unhealthy, it fragments your brain, and distracts from who you are with right now. I admit, those are valid points. I started out only having 200 texts a month. That's like 3 texts, counting both sending and receiving, per day.
The average American teenager sends about 80 a day. So yeah, 200 a month did not work for me at all.
My parents eventually agreed that 200 was kind of a conservative number, and moved me to the 1500 plan, as long as I promised only to use 600 of them.
This month's cell bill just came up.
I sent over 1600.
*sigh*
Now, when you look at the statistics, that's not unreasonable. On average, teens send and receive 2272 a month. So really, I'm not that bad.
BUT. That's not the point. The point is that I didn't follow through with my part of the plan. My parents weren't going to let me have texting at all, but they decided that 200 was okay. I blew it big time there, costing them a lot of money. We renegotiated, and I was allowed to send 600. Well, I blew it again. As much as I really think I can stay within the limit, I'm not gonna get another chance, at least for a while.
I stand firm that 600 texts a month isn't a lot, and even 1600 isn't too many. My grades have been okay, and texting has not been interfering with my family life. However, as an aspiring lawyer and one who values justice over mercy, I can see exactly why I lost texting. It was fair. No, it was more than fair. I got three shots and blew them all. Maybe I'll have better luck in a few months :)

A Happy Ending, But...
Well. Today was preeeetty awful.
#1: Woke up to an angry mother.
#2: Got my cell phone taken away.
#3: Did not get enough school done.
#4: My mom's students came this afternoon, which translates to no computer use and no desk chair in my room -_-
#5: A girl stepped on my toe at dance. In a tap shoe. It kills -_-
And then the worst:
#7: My ring broke. The one I replaced my mood ring with. The one that was my favorite.
:-/ >.< :( :'(
I should have taken if off before dance. But being the incredibly intelligent individual I am, I did not. So now it's busted. Into three pieces. I only found two.
Only now today doesn't suck AS much anymore because SOMEONE just made me laugh my head off and smile and grin, so...whatcha gonna do? Did today suck, or is all well that end's well?
I'm going with a happy ending fixes everything.
At least until I remember my ring is busted and my mood ring is somewhere at Great Wolf Lodge and so my ring finger feels all naked and sobbing and my toe--
Never mind. All's well that ends well XD

Brief Explanation and Today
First: Sorry about yesterday XD And sorry to anyone I came in contact with yesterday. Bad day. I realized I'd left my phone charger at Great Wolf Lodge, my jaw popped out of joint, one of my friends was letting his giant crush show more than usual, I still couldn't (and can't) find my mood ring, I discovered things about a friend that I'd rather not have found out, etc. etc. etc. Just a really bad day.
And the next day was Monday, which only added to my misery. Monday's suck, in case you didn't know.
Today...kinda sucked. It could have been a lot better, it could have been a lot worse. But, I'm going to focus only on the good.
Good Things About Today:
- I wasn't super tired when I woke up.
- I actually really loved "A Morbid Taste For Bones" that we read for school.
- I got the new Alice in Wonderland soundtrack on iTunes, and I love it.
- I discovered that I still have a giant Hershey kiss from Valentine's Day and dug into that.
- My mom is letting me finish my Brahms paper on Wednesday instead of me bleeding out my eyes trying to write it at the computer right now. (That didn't make sense...but whatever. I'm tired.)
- I'm actually tired and I want to go to bed, which doesn't usually happen at such a good time.
- I successfully reminded my classmates that my teacher's birthday is tomorrow, and we're all making goodies and cards for her.
- I got a very encouraging comment.
Hah, wow, I didn't realize all those good things happened :D I feel even better now. Yay.
This is the end of the real post, but I found an interesting "tag" on Facebook today, and I want to post it. It's kind of odd and not really relevant to anything, but here it is:
Boys are always good with their words, Am I right?
Some boys really are. In my experience, mostly they are not XD
Do you believe "drunken words are sober thoughts"?
No.
How about all girls are b*****s. Correct?
All girls CAN be, but not all are all the time.
When someone says "we need to talk," what runs through your mind?
Usually I’m really up for it. I like talking about stuff, especially the “hard” stuff for some reason.
What’s the last movie you watched? With who?
“The Sister Act” with my family :)
When was the last time you wanted to punch someone in the face?
Hmm, lol, I don’t know.
Do you know anyone who always looks perfect?
I used to, but lately I’ve started to realize that perfect is almost relative. Sooner or later your personality starts to show in your face, and then those perfect people don't look quite so perfect anymore XD
Two wrongs don't make a right, Correct?
Technically, they don’t. But sometimes the way we think…
Do you think relationships are hard?
Uh, definitely, but they can also be more than worth it.
Is there someone who meant a lot to you at one point, and isn't around now?
Definitely.
Can money buy happiness?
Yep. Happiness comes from things or circumstances. HAPPiness comes from HAPPenings. But JOY; that comes from God and from your attitude.
What do you hear right now?
“Her Name Is Alice” by Shinedown from the new Alice in Wonderland soundtrack.
If you had a tree that could grow anything you want, what would it grow?
Is Time too abstract? If so, then money.
Do you know anyone who's been in jail?
Mhmm.
What is your favorite color?
Green
Do you have a lighter on you?
Hah, no.
Could you go a month without talking to your best friend?
Yeah. But it kinda sucks.
Have you ever sat in the back of a police car?
No XD
Would you say you’re emotionally strong?
I usually am in front of people, but in private…no.
What’s worse, ignorance or stupidity?
Stupidity. Ignorance can be taken care of, but stupidity is a mindset and it’s totally your own fault.
Do you know anyone, who doesn’t smoke pot?
Uh, yes. Plenty XD
Think, what do you want more than anything?
Structure.
Would you rather have long or short hair?
Eh, I’m not sure. I hate having REALLY short hair, but really long hair makes me look like a hippie…
Do you follow your head or your heart?
Normally my head.
Do you ever get so frustrated that you just wanna cry?
Yesss.
After taking a shower, do you change in the bathroom or in your bedroom?
The bathroom. My house is freezing. I like to stay in the warmness as long as possible XD
Which would you rather, grow old with somebody or alone?
With someone for sure.
Your lost in the middle of nowhere, without a phone to call for help, What would you do?
Well, what kind of “nowhere” are we talking about? At first I pictured a desert, but, I mean, >insert name of my town< style="font-weight: bold;">What will you be doing in 15 mins?
Writing a paper I should have written about five days ago.
What's your middle name?
Cinderbelle XD No, it’s Marielle.
Have you ever given up on someone but then went back to them?
Lols, kind of.
Do you have someone of the opposite sex you can tell anything to?
Yes.
Have you ever dated two people at once?
I’ve never dated anyone. So no.
Who was the last person to piss you off?
It’s not usually a person, it’s more like…me.
Are you Asian?
Lol, I am not.
Are you happy right now?
Sort of...yeah.
What age do you want to get married?
Early-ish twenties. Like 24.
What's a line from the song you're listening to?
“But all I feel is strange.” – from “Strange” by Tokio Hotel and Kerli
Are you a bad influence?
It depends on what kind of bad influence you mean.
Do you get jealous easily?
It’s not exactly “jealous”, just kind of…sad-skeptical-unsure. Lol.
Is it usually easy for someone to make you smile?
Depends on the person.
Is tomorrow going to be a good day?
Possibly. I guess it depends on me.
Ever cried while you were on the phone with someone?
Yeah, but I’m a quiet crier, so I’m not sure they knew, lol XD
What color's your shirt?
Black.
Do you like to be tickled?
I’m not ticklish, so I can’t say. But I kind of wish I were ticklish, lol.
Are you dying to take off your clothes?
Uh. No…
Do you care too much/not at all/just enough?
Mostly not enough, but in some areas, too much.
Have you ever kissed someone with the same first initial as you?
Lols, no… XD
Who would you want to be tied to for 24 hours?
Probably no one. Being tied to anything sounds horrible to me.
What should we do w/ stupid people?
I like Kathryn’s answer: “Feed them to sharks.”
What was the first thing you did this morning?
I dunno…I think I probably texted someone.
Are you spoiled?
Nooo.
How do you vent your anger?
I mostly try to keep it inside and it leaks out on people until it’s all gone, lol.
Would you ever join the military?
I’ve thought about it, but I don’t think I’m tough enough, lol.
The last website you visited?
Holly Schindler: Novel Anecdotes to read her interview with one of my favorite bloggers, Sam from One Sparkling Star!
Who was the last person you took a picture with?
I don’t remember.
Today, would you rather go back a week or go forward a week?
Forwards. Let’s get through the remaining six weeks of school as freaking quickly as possible.
If you read all that, you get...a virtual cookie :D Here you go. *hands cookie*
Have a good day :) Remember the good stuff. It kinda helps.

Beach Trip Recap
I'm back :)
W-O-W.
I have a big imagination, but I cannot imagine having a better Sweet 16 celebration than this beach trip. That was AMAZING. I LOOOOOOOVE my girlfriends. We're all really nice, really fun, really real, and really not into drama. We all got along great the whole time, no cattiness, no backstabbing, just a really fun beach trip. It was perfect. Lemme just hit the high spots...
Wednesday:
We drove down. That was fun. Long, but fun. We watched the Bourne Identity in the car, and ate dinner at McDonald's.
We got to the beach at around 9pm, but were locked out of the house! My dad had forgotten that my uncle had changed the locks, and we had to drive the realestate office and get the new key XD
We finally got into the house and dumped our stuff off. Then, we decided to walk on the beach a little. The house is great; you just walk out the back door, down the steps, and TA-DA, the beach :D It was totally dark, and kinda cold. We were all just standing around, but I got tired of that and ran for the water. I sprinted up this little hill at full speed.
All the sudden, no ground under me! I was freefalling! O.O *scream* Then I hit the sand. I was totally shocked and disoriented. Wha...?
I had fallen off a mini-cliff! Instead of sloping back down, the sand hill dropped off into a 5ft tall cliff!
Honestly, it was AWESOME. It was just like those scary dreams where you fall off a cliff: a burst of adrenaline, shock, fear, and you wonder what you're supposed to do about it...Then I hit the cushy sand XD
As weird as it sounds, I'd totally do it again. There's nothing like the sheer adrenaline of running off a cliff in the dark :D
Thursday:
Lots of pj-wearing, and my grandpa came! We girls walked all the way to the pier (only to find it was closed and "closely monitored with surveillance cameras" -_-), and Amanda and I walked all in the icy cold, knee-deep tide pools :D
Fajitas for dinner, then charades.
Just so you know, I HATE charades. If I could pick one game NEVER, EVER, EVER to play EVER, EVER, EVER it would be charades. I suck at it. Like, you would not BELIEVE how bad I suck. I mostly stand there looking like a deer-in-the-headlights while my teammates coach me through it >.<
After the TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO-GOOD, VERY BAD game of cha-shootme-rades, we watched "Pirates of the Caribbean". Well, we started to. We didn't finish it; we only got about halfway through it before we decided it wasn't worth keeping our eyes shut and went to our bedrooms XD
Of course, just because we girls were all in bed doesn't mean we went to SLEEP. We all stayed up and talked with our roommates for quite a while methinks XD
Friday:
We were all tired. I was tired. But it was fun. I kinda don't remember much about FriDAY, but FriNIGHT was the BEST.
Amanda and I weren't feeling very good (Kirsten blames the icy tide pools. Maybe she's right...), so we and Ellie and Kirsten went downstairs to veg.
We four talked for hours. HOURS. I love those girls. We had so much fun just talking and laughing and sharing secrets and talking about what makes good friends and on and on and ON.
We also--well, I say "we". Cavender's number got extracted, and Ellie and Kirsten decided to prank call him.
Me: "Nu."
Them: "Yep." *dials*
Me: "He's gonna know it's us."
Them: "No, he won't!"
Me: "Yes. He will. He's not an idiot."
They call anyway. He plays along, which kinda made Ellie's prank-calling day. I was kinda like >.< but he didn't mind, so it was 'kay :D
>more girly talk<
"Let's call him again."
...okay...
So, we did. Amanda talked to him first (well, kind of all of us did. He was on speaker.), then the phone got passed around and ended up with me. Lots of laughs over all this XD
At about midnight, we hung up with Cavender and most of the girls went to their own rooms. We were all kinda squished in our little room. Have you ever tried fitting three girls in a twin bed? It is not easy.
I was sooooooo tired. I rolled over against the wall and went in and out of wakefulness. They tried to keep me awake, but without muck success until Ellie started texting weird things to Cavender. Then I was like -___- *wakes up*. Only she never sent them, so then I went back to sleep.
I don't remember a whole lot about the rest of the night XD
Saturday:
*sob* Cleaning and leaving day. It was the warmest, sunniest day of all. Go freaking figure. *sigh*
We cleaned the house really fast (everyone is awesome, btw) and were on the road by 11am. We stopped at Subway and Wendy's for lunch, watching the Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum in the car. I was SO TIRED. And wearing my trucker hat again :D Pictures possibly coming soon.
The ride home was short and filled with silence, Jason Bourne, and iPods. Then we dropped everyone off at their respective houses, and Ellie's sister came and got her from my house.
I felt pretty...peaceful after everyone was gone XD But I miss them.
I am so. freaking. tired. You wouldn't believe it. I was getting in bed TWO HOURS AGO when my dad told me that my skating hero Apolo Ohno was gonna skate tonight. I was like -______- but I got up and watched him...He just now finished all his races.
Bronze. Frick.
Okay, I'mma go pass out now. Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense. I'll polish it tomorrow :D

P.S. Friends are the best things ever.

Lost: One Beautiful, Red LG Shine Cell Phone
I'm back and fully functional!
I'm gonna do the lovely Name Day stuff before I jump into the recap of my life :)
NAME DAY!!
Name of the Day:
Cavender
How cool is that? I really love that name. I can't remember where I heard it...maybe I read it somewhere...At any rate, I haven't looked up the meaning yet, so let's see...
searching...
searching...
searching...
"The name 'Cavender' is not in any of our records."
"We're sorry, the name 'Cavender' could not be found."
"No information on 'Cavender'."
*blink*
That is...creepy.
Apparently, to the rest of the world, the name "Cavender" does not exist. This is really very odd indeed...that's never, ever happened before.
And I can't remember where I heard that name! All I remember is that I heard it and had to go do something really fast, so I jotted the name down on a Sticky Note so I wouldn't forget it.
Wow, that is so odd.
Anyway, sorry. That wasn't much of a name for Name Day without a meaning, but whatever.
Back to my life :)
------------------------
The practicum went great(ly)! It was the perfect ammount of tiring, difficult, and fun. There were some really great kids, and then some ones I hope I never see again ;) Just kidding (mostly).
I worked with Daniel in ArtGeo (6-8 year olds), which turned out to be fun. We ended up doing a lot of stuff because there were only the two of us as helpers. I like that better than having, like, four helpers. When there are too many helpers, no one gets to do anything.
I got asked if Daniel was my older brother six times. MADE. MY. DAY. Hey, if I can't actually have an older brother, I can at least have someone close enough to confuse little children.
Since this practicum was pretty close to our house, we didn't have to stay at someone's house or at a hotel. We just drove the forty-five minute distance every day (which was fine). But, we had to be the host family for two families who lived too far away to drive every morning.
Family one: Mom, Denise; daughter, Hannah (age twelve). There's more to their family, but only them came to the practicum.
Family two: Mom, Ginny; daughter, Kirstin (age eleven); daughter, Michelle (age nineteen). Again, more to the family, but only they came.
My little sister, Lizzy (age twelve), Hannah, and Kirstin already knew each other, so I knew that it would be an interesting three days having all three of them in the same house. Nothing could have prepared me for the endless hugging, fighting, bickering, laughing, screaming, tickling, complaining, bugging, loving, wildness of those three.
The first night, it took them about thirty seconds to warm up to each other, and then they were immediately really giggly, really loud, and really annoying (sorry, but it' the truth). I came downstairs and got on the computer to try to write, and they kept trying to read over my shoulder -_- Then, they kicked me off because they wanted to look at the songs on Lizzy's iTunes.
I went upstairs to watch some TV. I got really into the program, and they come barrelling up the stairs and say, "We want to watch a movie, so you have to leave." You see, we have two TVs in the house, but only one DVD player. I was like, "Uh, no." So, they got mad, but they left. Then, twenty minutes later, THEY'RE BACK and they decide to watch TV WITH me -_- They talk a lot during TV and movies.
The next day at breakfast, I just didn't even say anything. I knew if I opened my mouth, I was going to snap someone's head off. I was in a really bad mood, but I was controlling it because I knew I would have the whole forty-five minute car ride to listen to my iPod in the front seat of our van.
Well, I was in the front seat preparing to fire up my iPod when Daddy comes out and says, "I need you to stay and ride with Mrs. Denise so you can lock up the house." I'm like, "You're kidding right?" So, I get out, slam the car door for all I'm worth, and wait around for Mrs. Denise to get ready to leave.
Moments later, she's ready and we drive to the church where the practicum is.
The rest of the day was great!
It comes time to leave, and the prospect of riding home with the Giggling Three is too much at the end of a day filled with bratty six-year-olds and eating nasty turkey sandwiches with no pepper, so I ask Mrs. Keri if I can ride home with them. Mrs. Keri is David and Daniel (a.k.a. my "brothers")'s mom. They were coming over to our house for a cookout anyway, so that worked out great. An hour or so with the boys was just what I needed to give me a break from the girls.
The cookout was lots of fun, and it was the most delicious ever. We had perfectly seasoned grilled chicken, rolls, red and green peppers and onions that were seasoned and grilled, and the best spicy seasoned fries ever. WOW, it was good :)
Day 3 of the practicum was fine, but tiring. By the end, I was half glad it was all over and half sad because I really do love working with kids.
We came home after eating out on Day 3 and watched "Star Wars: Episode 5".
That's when I noticed my cell phone was missing.
My first heart-pounding, panicked thought is, "Well, I'll just call it." But, whoops, I forgot; IT DIED.
I racked my brain for when I was sure I had it: in the afternoon at ArtGeo, I pulled it out to see what time it was only to notice that it was dead. I was fairly sure I'd had it when we went into the restaurant, too, but I couldn't be sure.
So, I stressed about that all night. No way was I going to tell my parents. Do I look suicidal to you?
I thought about calling Daniel and asking him if he had seen it or found it, but his number was in my phone -_-
So, to destress myself, I called Ellie B. We chatted for a while until Daddy made me get off the phone because I'd forgotten to empty the downstairs trash.
I killed time all afternoon, worrying. I added up how many pages worth of NEW books I had read so far this sumer, and guess how many pages I've read? Are you ready?
7,335. Maybe not that impressive. I don't really know.
Finally, the stress was too much. I told my mom about the cell phone after making her promise not to get mad. We looked EVERYWHERE :'(
She suggested looking in the van (again), but it wasn't there.
She suggested looking in my room (again), but it wasn't there.
She suggested maybe Daddy had found it and was just waiting to see if I would notice/say something. My reply: "He's not that...crafty. Only you would do that."
She suggested looking in Daddy's recliner, it WAS there!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!
My ridiculously good luck has not abandoned me yet! I must be the luckiest person in the world (besides the fact that I don't have an older brother).
And that was my last three days. Sorry I went on and on. It's okay if you didn't read it all, I'll still be glad to look back years from now and read over what happened the summer I was fifteen.
You know how I was all upset about turning fifteen because fourteen was so awesome? Well, I love fifteen!! It's even better than fourteen! I've changed my mind, fourteen isn't the perfect age, fifteen is.
Sixteen on the other hand...
;)
Thanks for reading, go carpe what's left of this diem!
EDIT: OMG, MICHAEL JACKSON DIED! MICHAEL JACKSON IS DEAD! DEAD! HOLY COW! WHOA! What a crazy thing to happen. He's the first celebrity that I've "known" that has died. How...weird.

Rehearsal Update
I'm home from my rehearsal.
I've been to twelve rehearsals in my life.
This was the WORST EVER.
Terrible. Horrible. No good. Very bad.
The stage is so much smaller than any of us remember, and we are a HUGE class. Like, twenty girls. On a smallish stage. We were constantly running into each other. No one could do well. Disaterous.
I messed up a little in every dance except the tap, which is my favorite, so that was good. The ONLY good thing.
We had four dances in the first half, so that means we have to dance, go back stage and transform ourselves in like five minutes. STRESSFUL MUCH??
THEN THINGS GET WORSE. A LOT WORSE.
Okay, so my mom and Lizzy and I are on the way home, and I'm griping about how bad I did, and asking Lizzy if she saw this really amazing girl with red hair dance (if you're reading this, Meredith, it's you). Then my eyes get all wide and wild as I say in a panicking voice,
"GO BACK! I FORGOT MY MAKE-UP BAG!!"
My mom freaks, we swerve around and start speeding back to the auditorium.
I know. You're thinking, okay, it's a make-up bag. Bad, but not THAT bad. I mean, you'll just have to put your make-up on at the auditorium instead of at home. No real biggie.
Hahahahaha. If only it were that simple.
MY PHONE WAS IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*panicks all over again*
My beautiful red LG shine was in there. Who knows if someone got it?? I need my phone! If someone finds it, they'll be able to steal it and run up charges and do who-knows-what with it! AND the make-up was a pretty significant problem, too, I mean, I love that stuff. But my PHOOOOOOOOOOONE!!
So we race back to the auditorium, my mom lecturing me about why didn't I keep up with it, why did I even bring my phone back there in the first place, etc. etc. I'm not really freaking out TOO badly, because, I mean, we haven't actually been gone from the auditorium for very long. Someone will be there to unlock the door. I can go right in and get my bag, and everything will be fine. It always is.
We pull up in the parking lot and, thank goodness, there are lights on in there. I run as fast as I can to the front door and pull, crossing my fingers.
It's open! Yay!
I run the last few steps to get to the auditorium and yank on the double doors.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It's locked. It's locked. It's locked.
EXCUSE ME?
So yeah. I still don't have my make-up, or my phone. I don't know where it is, if someone got it, or if it's still there. I feel like cussing right now. But, of course, I won't. At least I won't type it.
But I'm really stressed, scared, bummed, and...shocked.
Okay, have any of you seen Ferris Beuler's Day Off? If you haven't, it's about a teenage boy who's sort of invincible. He does awesome, crazy, irresponsible things, and everything works out for him. Things just fall into place in the most unbelievable ways.
Not to brag, but that's kind of how things happen for me. Not ALWAYS, but most of the time. I mean, think about the whole tights thing. I was never super stressed out because I figured it would all work out. That's usually the way things happen for me. It's weird and disgusting, but true. Things just work out right.
So, I wasn't really worried when I lost the make-up bag. Sure, it was a pain to turn around, but I knew the doors would be unlocked and my bag would be right where I left it.
Only it wasn't.
Hmm. Weird. And awful. *shrugs thoughtfully* I just really hope it turns up. It will be terrible if it doesn't. Like REALLY, REALLY, YOU-HAVE-NO-IDEA-HOW-BAD terrible.
Hooray for a reality check, right?
*sigh*

Spring Hormones
I did yard work today :D Sort of. Not, like, extreme labor or anything, but I did plant flowers and stake out a spot for my vegetable garden. I'm having crazy cravings for growing things lately. I want something to take care of. So I'm going to have a vegetable garden with tomatoes, squash, zucchini, spinach, and possibly some kind of bean or something. I'm excited :D :D
There was a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon!!! :D I LOVE thunder storms. They're so awesome. They're like power and beauty incarnate. So awesome.
My dad was fixing the invisible fence for our dog today. You know, burrying the wire in the woods and stuff. And while he was doing that, his cell phone slipped off its little clip on his belt. He didn't notice until he was finished and his cell phone was missing. He was going to just walk around the woods with another cell phone, calling his phone, and listening for his ringtone, but he was afraid he might not be able to hear it ringing. So, he asked me to come help him listen for it. I grabbed my cell phone and we went to the edge of the woods. I called his phone, and heard it ringing. It was far away. He said he couldn't hear it at all. It was really kind of fun because he had to totally rely on me since he couldn't hear the ringing at all. We did find the phone after a while, and it was about seventy-five feet from where we'd started. It made me feel good that he'd needed me so much :)
I had this awesome dream last night that I was part of a HUGE family. With, like, ten kids. I could only remember two names when I woke up, though, and none of the plot. Darn. It would have made a great story, I remember that much. I might try to pull something together for a story anyway since Creepy is going so crappy (crappily??). Oh, and the two names I remember were Penelope, who was my older sister, and Evangelina, who was my oldest sister's daughter. So, my neice. Weird.
Well, that's all mostly. I helped my mom cook today. Voluntarily. Something is wrong with my hormones or something. I'm all into cooking and taking care of stuff lately. It's kind of freaking me out. 'Cause I'm so not the cooking, house-keeping, planting type. *frown* It's weird. Oh well. I'll let you know if anything really DRASTIC happens. TTYL! CARPE DIEM!
And don't forget to read Carpe Noctem. The topic for this week is...Weird vs. Normal: Does the Problem Even Exist? http://toseizethenight.blogspot.com/2009/04/weird-vs-normal-does-problem-even-exist.html
