Concerning Guys and Girls...

Hellooo! Today was great! I had some crazy friends over for a sleepover last night, and today we went and worked at Cassidy's ranch as a youth project. I rode on the top of a pick-up truck back and forth on the bumpy road (which I think feels a lot like riding on an elephant would), shoveled a lot of horse manure, and got to see a guy's foot actually gush blood (not gonna lie, it kinda reminded me of the Black Knight in "Monty Python"). All in all, a very exciting day.

Now I know you're all very interested in my Dos and Don'ts for Guys, as well as the About Girls category, so without further adieu...

Don'ts for Guys:
61. Don't let your hair get too long.
62. Don't wear skinny jeans.
63. Don't be girly.
64. Don't part your hair (if you follow the first "rule," this shouldn't be a problem XD)
65. Don't let yourself or people you care about be pushed around.
66. Don't lie.
67. Don't be disrespectful.
68. Don't be so nervous!
69. Don't cuss.
70. Don't go too long without shaving.

Dos for Guys:
71. Do hold doors for girls.
72. Do give hugs.
73. Do make people laugh.
74. Do like guy stuff.
75. Do know *something* about sports.
76. Do be yourself.
77. Do try in school.
78. Do persevere.
79. Do read (at least occasionally).
80. Do be on time.

About Girls...
81. We like it when guys call/text/talk to us first.
82. We're tough. But not ALL the time.
83. It will bother us when you forget something we’ve told you, even though we know guys are pitiful.
84. Even if we know you like/love us, if you stop showing it, we’ll think you’ve stopped meaning it.
85. Tell us when we look nice, but don’t tell us that ALL THE TIME, or it loses its meaning.
86. Sometimes we tell you that you win even when you lose.
87. Sometimes we tell you that you lose even when you win.
88. We’re complicated, but it makes us feel good when you try to figure us out.
89. It’s annoying when you try to interpret our secret girl eye-conversations. If we wanted you to know, we’d say it out loud.
90. Flowers will always be cute.

To Pierce or Not to Pierce

That is the question. I'm searching the depths of this cosmic world for the answer.

AKA, my internet buddies XD

As of now, this is what my ears look like:
Plain. Unimpaled. Virgin. Unscathed. Whole.

See also "unpierced".

Thus we come to the deep, philosophical question I'm struggling with: Should I pierce them or not?

So far I've left them untouched because I don't think piercing them is worth it. It's girly, I'm not. It involves jewelry, something I don't even wear. It would be a hassle, and if I don't even care, why bother? It's just something extra to keep track of and remember (and clean twice daily for four-to-six-weeks).

My 13-year-old sister Lizzy votes to pierce them. Actually, she votes "PLEEEEEASE DO IT! DOITDOITDOIT, JUST DOIT." I vote "Ehhhh....I dunno."

I sort of feel like I might as well, to open up the option of earrings if I ever wanted them. If I end up hating the hassle, I can always just keep some plain studs in and forget about it. Or let the wholes grow over. But then again, if I'm going to end up not caring/hating it, why do it in the first place?

So you see my dilemma. Assistance would be greatly appreciated XD What are you thoughts? Do you have pierced ears? Do you like them? Do you have "virgin ears"? (XD) Do you like them? Pros of ear-piercing, cons of ear-piercing...Share your thoughts! I've been debating this for months...

New Thoughts

Modesty.

I’m starting to see this in a new light. You know, modesty isn’t just about being modest. It’s about being considerate of those around you. What might actually be pretty decent clothing can still make some people uncomfortable. Specifically, guys.

Before, when people would say things like this, I would just roll my eyes. “I’m not immodest, okay? If your mind goes there, that’s your problem.”

While I still sort of believe that, it’s kind of mean when you think about it. Sure, guys need to be able to control their minds, but we don’t need to make it harder for them! Guy and girl minds work differently. Basically, guys are just more physical, and their instincts are more physical. The strongest, most amazing Christian guy is going to struggle sometimes. It’s not fair for us girls to parade around, leaving the self-control to all to them. It’s just not fair.

As nice people, not to mention Christians, we should try our best not to make others stumble and fall. Guys try really hard, y’all. (Well, most of them.) How fair is it if we don’t try at all?

This has never really been a personal thing for me, but I feel like it is now. I’m seeing this issue in a whole new light, and it’s incredibly eye-opening.

I’m not saying girls should dress only in long sleeves and skirts. Not at all. I’m also not saying that the responsibility of keeping minds pure rests completely on girls. Not at all. I’m saying it should be a joint effort. Guys, don’t go there. Girls, don’t lead them.

Be considerate, okay? Be fair. Be modest.

The word is taking on a whole new meaning for me.

Shopping. Yeah, Again.

I have good news for you:

I survived yet another shopping trip.

It wasn't actually that bad. I'm starting to not dislike it. Which is not the same as liking it, mind you, I can just STAND it now.

...okay, maybe I like it a little bit. But only when it's for me. And when I have a non-cheapskate budget. And it's not one of those leave-at-9AM-get-back-at-4PM trips. Then, and only then, I kinda like it XD

I have sort of an odd sense of style sometimes, so it's weird finding clothes. I don't do plaid shorts. I dislike flowered embroidery. Puff sleeves + pink = not for me. Purple anything = not for me. Anything even hinting of "Save the Planet", "Peace and Love" or "THIS WAS RECYCLED" receives an immediate GETMEAWAYFROMTHISRACK reaction.

(The first and last YESES I actually got :D)

Not only did I find some CLOTHES I liked, but also a pair of SHOES. That is a major accomplishment for me. Why?

1) I have big feet.
2) I have long toes.
3) Kendra's big feet + Kendra's long toes = I hate my feet.

So yeah XD I found shoes. Wewt.

Long story short: I don't hate shopping...:OOOOOOOO

XD

My Fail At Being Photogenic (the night of my haircut)

***WARNING: HAS NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH CHRISTMAS. FOR THE CHRISTMAS POST, SEE PREVIOUS POST. ALSO, SORRY FOR POSTING TWICE IN A DAY.***

So, basically: Lizzy's camera + new hair + late at night = crazy pictures!

I'm also really annoyed by those popular girls who sit around all day taking "bad" pictures of themselves when they couldn't look bad if they'd been run through a meat-grinder. I never felt like I had whatever it is that makes them look good even when they're not trying. *sigh* Ah well. New hair did help some. I guess. *raises eyebrow*

Hopefully you won't stare at these and dump me in the category of Vain-Popular-Princess, because I'm not. I don't think...I hope I'm not...

*shakes head*

It's late (well, after midnight at any rate), I'm tired, I can't think straight.

SO, without further ado, I present you, the epic fail called "My Fail At Being Photogenic" :)

Cheesy smile...
This one was an accident, but I figured you should be allowed to see me at my weirdest, too :P*Blink* A little distant...Get some Spock eyebrow goin' on...Future in modeling: Greatest Failure in History XDDon't judge me :P Just kidding.Lol, the real me... :)

Er, Don't Bother Reading

Play practice was today!!! YAY!! I really love it. I'm gonna be SO SAD when "Mulan" is over. I'll probably do another play, but I like this one!

We're continuing to just run through the show, and today we got to my all-time favorite "Mulan" song: "I'll Make a Man Out Of You". Our Shang (Matt B, not to be confused with Matt, my "little brother") does a great job of acting, and his singing is good, too. He didn't hit a couple of notes, but you could tell he realized it. I'm sure he'll be fine by showtime.

We went through my second Hun part, and afterwards, Matt B gave kind of a "good job" look and gesture. Cool.

*two hours later*

Sorry. I got interrupted for dinner, etc.

I'm so upset right now. Like, really, majorly upset.

Guys, don't feel obligated to read this girlish rant.

So, I had Facebook up, and then I had to go to dinner, and then I came back, and I had an IM message from Shang, only I hadn't seen it because I was at dinner and so now he's offline and he probably thinks I just didn't talk to him and so I feel really, really, REALLY awful, and I would have liked to talk to him too so I could have told him that he did well at practice because he's always telling me that and I never tell him that so that would have been the perfect opportunity to tell him only I missed it and he probably thinks I just ditched him or ignored him or something and he doesn't get on Facebook that much I don't think, so I might not get another chance to say anything for a long, long time and if he is ever on Facebook, he probably won't say anything to me because he thinks I don't want to talk to him or I'm rude or something!

...

*EPIC GASP*

HE'S BACK ONLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And he said "hi" again! And now we're talking! And he doesn't hate me!

*wipes brow*

Um, wow. Okay. Sorry. Girlish tirade over.

I promise, I'm really not like this usually. All of you new followers, don't be scared off. This is really, really, really unusual for me to go all baserk like this.

*shakes it off*

Anyway.

Uhm, I have nothing more to say.

*feels stupid*
