Praise: I got my permit! YESSS :) It was a little more complicated and irritating than we thought (we ended up not having all the paperwork, etc.), so I just got it yesterday. I missed 2 questions XD Oh well. I drove to class today, which was fun, even though it was kind of nerve-wracking.
Prayers: I know 10 people who are sick. There is a horrible thing going around. Stuffy nose, runny nose, sore throat, sneezing, coughing, chest pain, and a high fever in my sister's case. See, Lizzy is an amazing sport. She plows through life and gives 100% no matter what. She has to be feeling like death warmed over to show it, and, well, she's showing it.
I haven't seen her like this in years. At least. It makes me want to take all the sickness and just go through it myself, and I mean that. (Normally I'm a selfish little snitch, so it's different this time, lol...XD) My mom is even thinking about taking her to the doctor, something she hardly ever does.
Anyway, I don't want to sound annoying, because I know there are WAY worse things than a bad cold/virus thing, but any prayers for my sister (and all the other sick people) would be wonderful.

Finally. Maybe.
You might remember when I took driver's ed.
You might remember when this guy lost my certificate.
You might remember when the Department of Non-Public Education messed up our paperwork.
You might remember that we had to order my birth certificate because we couldn't find it.
You might remember that it took 8 weeks to arrive.
Nearly two years later than normal, I'm going to get my driver's permit today. Theoretically. I'm hesitant to even say anything because I'm really, really, really, really, really, REALLY afraid I might fail. Like, legitimately.
*sigh* We'll see. Prayers wouldn't be out of order :)

NINETEEN DAYS UNTIL!!!
First, two thank-yous:
Thanks to Cori for following!!! You rock!
Thanks for the Legolas Fan Award and the Eowyn's Courage Award, Eldarwen!! I love them. (You can see them on my sidebar just past the Visitors Since... and the Find it Fast thing.)
Also, I made a Christmas Blog Button :D It's on the side right there. Yeah, there. Feel free to put it on your blog :D Lols ;P
We are down to the teens! Only nineteen more days until Christmas!
What better way to celebrate the teens with a quick announcement?
I FINALLY CALLED THE NON-PUBLIC EDUCATION PEOPLE ABOUT GETTING MY PERMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After waiting since MARCH for my parents to do it for me, Mrs. Martha (Matt and Katie's mom, my second mom) told me I should do it myself. Yesterday when we were at their house all day, she asked me when I got up in the morning. I told her (sheepishly) about ten, and she told me she'd call me at ten thirty and remind me to call them myself!
So this morning, my dad comes into my room while I'm still asleep and says, "Telephone," holding out the phone. I blink at him, my hair in a ponytail that WAS neat last night and a voice resembling a frog say, "Oh. It's Mrs. Martha..." I take the phone.
Me: *croak* "Hello?"
Mrs. Martha: "Hey, I told you I'd call!"
Me: *smiling groggily* "Yep." *getting out of bed* "I'm making a note to call right now..."
Mrs. Martha: "I have a meeting at 10 so I had to call earlier. Sorry."
Me: *freeze...look at clock...it's 9:30 WHEW* "Oh, it's fine. Thanks for calling!!"
So, I did :D And I should be receiving a certificate of eligibility within a couple of days! Yay!
FYI:

Driving with God
So far this has been a really strange morning. But good strange. I think.
I woke up a little before eight, which wasn't exactly ideal since I was planning on being out until at least nine and I'd had a bad night's sleep. It was one of those nights when you just keep waking up all tangled in the sheets every hour or so. *moan* But I couldn't get back to sleep, and it was a really beautiful day, so I just opened the blinds and read in the bed for a while. At nine, I went upstairs and said good morning to my mom, came back downstairs and put on some ripped jeans, and went out to weed my little garden. I was in an uncharacteristically good mood.
My garden is doing REALLY well! Nothing is eating the leaves, everything looks very healthy, and they growing like...well, weeds, lol! I'm growing nine tomatoe plants, three red pepper plants, and four squash and zucchini plants.
I got all the little weeds out in like ten minutes and came back inside. I got dressed, made my bed, straightened up my room, and then--you might wanna sit down for this--I did my laundry.
I KNOW! I actually did it without being nagged for days on end!
Then, I ate a bowl of cereal, and came down here and started checking emails and blogs and stuff.
Oh, what a beautiful morning.
Only now I'm all stuffed up and sneezing because my mom made me sweep outside. *shudders* I don't mind sweeping the front walk and porch, but the back patio is really big with tons of beams where spiders string their webs all over. And those giant misquito things are all over. I HATE THOSE THING!! They're actually called the "crane fly", but they look just like enormous misquitos. EEEEEK! If I had to pick one bug to become exstinct, that would be the one I'd pick. Pictures:

EEEEEEK!! JUST LOOKING AT THEM GIVES ME THE CREEPS!!
Anyway, time for my Bible thing that I missed yesterday:
---------------------
Okay, I actually came up with this on my own; I didn't hear it in youth group or anything.
It occured to me during driver's ed driving that driving with the instructor is a little bit like living life with God.
Now, I'm not saying that my instructor was all-powerful or anything, haha. It's just that the situation is kind of familiar.
I mean, we just live our lives, making our own decisions. (I drive around, controlling the turns, and stuff like that.) For the most part, God will leave us alone and let us do our own thing. (The instructor gives guidlines, but he lets me drive and make my own little mistakes.) But, I know that if I get into real trouble, God won't let me down. He's always there with his "emergency break" ready to save the day if things get out of hand.
Practice driving really is a lot like life with God. God tells us what he thinks we should do, the best routes to take, and when to start breaking. Sometimes we listen, but sometimes we think we know better than God. Of course, when we try our own way, and God lets us, it usually doesn't turn out quite like we thought it would, and God ends up gently taking the wheel or applying the break in order to save our butts.
There's also that trust thing going on. At first, I was really nervous about driving, and I always double-checked what the instructor was saying. He would tell me the way was clear, but I would always look anyway just to see for myself. At first, that's how we are with God. We want to trust him and everything, but it's like, "Um, yeah, let me just make sure that fits with MY plan...". By the last day of driving, the instructor could just say, "Move over into the left lane" and I would immediately flick on the turn signal, even if I didn't see the lane change yet.
That's how we should get with God. Just totally trusting him to know what's best for us--because he does! God loves us, and he's always looking out for our best interests. He lets us make our own mistakes, but he'll always be there to help us out when things get crazy.
---------------------
On Wednesday, I'll be leaving to go to a practicum. That's this three day workshop kind of thing that's for Classical Conversations, the homeschooling program I do. A bunch of people who do Classical or who want to can come and hear people speak about it. It's really organized and all that stuff. My mom is one of the main speakers (she's awesome ;D), and I'm going to help in the camps.
There are four different camps that the moms (or dads) who are coming to the practicum can leave their kids at. Last year I helped in the 6-8 year olds in ArtGeo camp, which is pretty much what it sounds like: Geography disguised as Art. This year, I'm going to help in the 9-13 year olds camp. Their camp changes every year. Last year it was Trig (trigonometry), so I was like, hahahahaha NO. But this year it's going to a Logic camp, so I was like YESSSSSSS!!! Logic was one of my favorite classes in Challenge B (eighth grade). I love it.
So, anyway, what I was trying to say is this: we're leaving on Wednesday, and the practicum is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. That pretty much means that I won't be able to post from Thursday until Sunday. :( I'm going to miss Name Day. Darn. But, I just wanted to let y'all know that so when it looks like I've fallen off the face of the Earth, you can know that I haven't; I'm just helping 9-13 year olds with Ps and Qs and hypothetical syllogisms :D
I am a nerd.
And I don't mind :P
Maybe I'll do the Name on Wednesday or something. *shrugs*
Well, I'll be going now! Talk to you later! Carpe diem! Get outside! It's gorgeous! (At least it is here...)

A Little Bit of Everything
VERY GOOD EXCUSE: My grandma had a heart catherazation and we had to go and see her and then bring her home and spend the night last night. So, I didn't just ditch posting or whatever :) (My grandma is okay.)
-----------------------
But I do have a Challenge!! Bwahahaha. Eat a War Head candy without making a face. Hah. Let me know how that goes, because I've never been able to do it. I love those things.
-----------------------
No Carpe Noctem thoughts today :( Sorry.
-----------------------
Okay! So...I finished driving!! We just have to call the Department of Non-public Education and have them send me some certificate of elegibility or something and then I can get my permit! *gasp* :) AWESOME!!
"Mirror" is okay. I'm back to writing it, but almost half-heartedly. I went back and read it, and I'm going to have A LOT of editing to do -_- There are so many things that are just unrealistic and almost silly. *sigh* Oh well.
Dang, I feel boring again. I'm sure I had something to say...DARN, WHAT WAS IT??
Well, I changed my profile picture on Gmail, and it randomly changed my picture for some other blogger stuff...*shrugs* It's been dong weird things like that lately. So annoying. So far on the pole, the second picture, the universe one, is winning. I agree. That one is my favorite, I think. So, I'll be changing my profile picture to her as soon as the poll is closed. If anyone hasn't voted who actually cares, vote now! Lol :)
My daddy is still in Jamaica, and he's having a good time it sounds like. He and the other guys went to the market today. How cool is that? In some ways, I wish I were there, too. In others, I'm glad I'm not. I'm weird that way. I love to travel, but I hate trying new food and the traveling part (the car ride or plane trip), I don't like. *shrugs* But Jamaica sounds SO cool.
Well, I don't have any more news, so I won't keep blogging about nothing :) Talk to ya later! Carpe diem!

Turtles
Driving went much better today!! Everything went very good, actually. The only bad thing that happened was that I ran over a turtle. Yeahh...I tried to miss it, but instead I steered right onto it. *sigh* I also almost got this bird. He wouldn't move! I thought he would fly away, but he just SAT THERE! At the last second he flew away, though. The boys were like, "Wow, you weren't gonna move, were you?" And then when I hit the turtle like five minutes later, they were like, "What are you gonna hit next? Hey, look! Turkies!" -_- That's me. Just mowin' down wildlife.
But it was pretty hilarious.
Only now I feel so bad about killing the poor little turtle. *sob!*
-----------------------
Name Day! My faaaaaavorite!
Um. Hmm. A name...What should I do today?
Heheh, I have the perfect one:
Awanata.
It's a Native American name meaning "turtle" :P Oh, the humor of it all. Just kidding.
Definitely NOT something I would name my kid, but funny all the same.
------------------------
Matt and Katie are coming over again today. My mom will pick them up at school, and they'll come home and do homework. Then Matt will have to go to this award banquet thing, and Katie will stay here and I'll help her study for a million tests. Seriously, she has like spelling, history, science, geography (I think), and something else. Poor kid.
Oh, this is really random, but we had to weigh the guys' luggage before they left for Jamaica, so we had to find our scale. I didn't even know we had a scale. But I weighed myself, and I weigh like 123. Haha, one, two, three. Yeah, anyway. It's just weird because I've almost never weighed myself. Only at the doctor. And I haven't been to the doctor in over a year. Before that, I hadn't been in about five years. Our family is disgustingly healthy :P We're not, like, health freaks or anything, we just never get sick. I've never had strep throat or the flu, and I've had four ear infections in my whole life.
*knocks on wood*
Well, I'm hungry. The leftover pizza in the 'fridge is calling my name. Ttyl! Carpe diem!
P.S. Thanks for following, Dressed Like Violence!
P.P.S. Is there a story behind that name? Just curious.
P.P.P.S. DAAARN! I was gonna start doing my followers' names for Name Day! Dangit, I forgot. Okay, here's a bonus name then: Seth. It's Hebrew and it means...let me look it up..."appointed". And it means that everywhere; no confusing multiple meanings this time :)
But it was pretty hilarious.

Cherishing Family
*does a happy dance* IT'S QUOTE DAY!! YAY! MY FAVORITE!
But even before THAT, I have news:
I DID SOME OF THE DRIVING PART FOR DRIVER'S ED TODAY!!! YAY! It was kind of fun, medium boring, and quite nerve-wracking. I messed up some, too, which was embarassing. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Overall, not bad I don't think :)
Okay. Quote time.
"He who knows right will do right." --Socrates
I know I've talked about this before, though, so I won't go into detail. I just think it's cool. At first it makes no sense and you're like "nuh-uh", but then Socrates explains it and it makes perfect sense. Here's the link where I talk about it in detail(ish): http://puelladei.blogspot.com/2009/04/if-you-read-all-this-ill-give-you.html
---------------------
Well, the "family" is here again! With the dads gone to Jamaica, we have to help take and get Matt and Katie home from school. AAAND because my driving stuff is at their school, it all just works out. They're actually here right now. Lizzy and Katie are in Lizzy's room. I don't know what they're doing. Matt is flipping through channels and refusing to give up the remote. Which is fine because I'd rather post that rot my brain on the TV, MATTHEW. :) Just kidding.
Tomorrow the same thing will happen, only Katie has a million tests on Friday so I'll have to help her with that. Hmm.
Well, I don't have any more to say. Have a great day, and I'll probably continue doing the same! Carpe diem! Cherish your family. And remember, not all family is your own flesh and blood.
P.S. Could someone tell me who my latest follower is?? My computer is being stupid and won't load the Follower thing. Grr.
Okay. Quote time.

I Didn't Crash and I Also Didn't Procrastinate
GUESS WHAT??? I DROVE TODAY!! AND I DIDN'T CRASH! Lol! I was so happy! Not with a driving instructor or anything big like that, just around the neighborhood where the New House is. At first, it was a little scary as usual, but it got easier more quickly than usual. I've driven before, but only for like three minutes at a time. Just down the road or something. This time, I drove ALL OVER the new neighborhood when we went to see the House.
Oh my gosh, the House is finished! All that's left is for the people to come and clean up the floor and counters and vacuum and stuff. It's beautiful! Wow! And it was really windy today, which is, like, my favorite! (I absolutley LOVE wind.) The landscaping is so beautiful, and the carpet is in. I don't know how or why, but the carpet made my room look bigger...My room with BLUE WALLS of course. Lol! Creativity to the max!!
Today I tried not to procrastinate, and things went...wow. A lot faster than usual. I finished much earlier when I wasn't stopping to stare at my story or check my empty inbox for the millionth time :) Not that I usually do that or anything...........hehe :) I think staying on top of things will be a little easier now that I've seen for myself how big of a difference it makes.
Oh, and I finally figured out who this OTHER girl in my dance class reminds me of. Can you guess? Yup. (Or maybe no. What did you think it was?) Another book character. There's a girl in my dance class named Brooke that looks exactly like Paige Walt from Creepy Story. Acts like her sort of; not quite. But she looks almost just like her, and she reminds me of her. I'll have to post a picture of her if possible....which it probably isn't. Still. I'll try. And I'll try to get one of McKinna, too. Gosh, McKinna scares me sometimes. She's just exactly like Ember Smokeman....
Well, other than my driving and the fact that the House is so awesome I can hardly stand it, not a lot is goin' on. But still, that's pretty good for me. Driving, moving, not procrastinating, meeting my own characters. The worlds is a pretty crazy place after all. Don't miss it. :)
P.S. I still haven't heard back from the Shurtugal.com people. I don't know if you remember, I applied for a job as a columnist for them. They haven't responded...Do you think they're still considering, or should I give up?
