The Armoured Heart

Congrats to Cavender and Limer! You didn't get the Guess That Word: Spanish Addition word correct, but you DID it, so you get an award :D

*applause*

The answer I was looking for is this:

Desconsolado = heartbroken.

All your guesses were VERY close, and pretty much synonomous, but not quite :)

Moving on to Picture Day...

Okay, so, keeping with the Spanish word theme, I just Googled "broken heart" images. I found three AWESOME ones, and I CANNOT chose, so you get three pictures in one day! Woohoo! :)

Aren't those so cool?? I thought so. I really want to go into detail about them, actually, but I'll just do the first one.

This heart is shattering, but notice that not all the way through. The heart is three dimentional and only the outer armour is coming off, exposing the bare, red heart. As tragic as the picture looks, if you think about it, it's actually not. At least, not necessarily.

This could be a picture of at least two different and opposite things: it could symbolize a person with a lot of reservations, who has trouble giving his/her heart away. Then, along comes someone very special who helps to shatter than tough exterior and help him/her fall deeper in love without all the barriers.

It could also portray a broken and wounded heart. A heart that's been hurt deep down, and over a long time, a scab has grown over the heart, a scab, a protective shell. Then, suddenly something reminds the heart of the one it love, and suddenly the scab is torn off, exposing the painful wounds.

I tend to think it's the first option. Look at the stars sparkling around. It really doesn't seem like such a depressing picture.

Then you have that thing in the upper left-hand corner... What is that?

I think it's a tiny Earth.

Then that sort of makes the case for both options, I think. Having the Earth so small and far away could be portraying loneliness, or it could be portraying being so in love, that worldly cares are far away.

What do you think? Leave a comment and tell me!

Hmm, wow, that was a little deep, haha! I really like all the pictures, but the eye might be my favorite. Or maybe the armoured one...it's a tie. Which is your favorite?

**CHALLENGE** Comment or email me (livinglovinglaughinglearning@gmail.com) what you think one of the pictures means, and/or which is your favorite. There might be an award in this for you... ;)

Today I got to see my wonderful favorite Aunt Susan. She's so much fun. Almost scattered, by so very dear and fun. I just love her.

Well, that's all for now, folks!

Carpe diem!

P.S. Millions of thanks to ILARUS for following!! Wow, 41 followers...I think I'm getting dizzy...

An Enchanted Forest and A Happy Week!

Haha, I know it's a little girly, but I thought this picture was cool. I don't really know why, it's just like the classic enchanted forest. I think it's really well done, too.

I know this is random, but want to show y'all this before I forget. It's sooooo funny!! It's called Bible in a Minute. Here's the link:

Anyway, today I went bathing suit shopping. I already have a bathing suit, but since we live closer to the lake, my mom figured we'd be going swimming more often that we do normally. *sigh* Bathing suit shopping is usually hard for me. Not because I'm overweight (I'm actually not too bad), but because I feel so...exposed in most of them, lol! It's hard to find one that I feel comfortable wearing, because, sorry, but I don't just lay on the beach and watch everyone else have fun. I like to actually DO stuff without worrying that my top is gonna fall off! I found one that's cute and I feel okay in. It's a little low, but I figure I can get used to it. Let's hope.
Haven't written Creepy in a couple of days. I'll force myself today.
OHHHHHHHHHHH guess what?? I got the third book in the Mortal Instruments Trilogy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Books are the only thing that get that many exclamation points. I'm really excited! So is Ellie B. Or at least she will be when she gets the text I sent her, lol! We both love the books now. I let her borrow the first one when she came over a couple of Fridays ago (remember?), and she loved it, too. YAY! Now I'm reading two books at once again. *sigh* The final Farsala book (which is still good), and the City of Glass.
Tomorrow night is band practice and I'll get to play with the little kids (Abby and Jarrod, and Ryan and Maddie)!! Yay again! This week is just going fabulously so far. And to end it, I'll be babysitting Maddie and Ryan, and then going to a sleepover at Ellie's! Seriously, this is like the best week EVER. YAY YAY YAY YAY! Sorry to be so ridiculously happy, lol :)
Okay, here's one bad thing: I've been trying to load the same stupid page for--NOT EXAGGERATING--almost fifteen minutes. What is WRONG with this stupid computer? GOSH! Windows Vista sucks. Seriously. No one buy it. It's a waste of money, and time.
Oh, and I have a question for all the guys out there: You know that you're going to a magical world, what do you bring with you? You also know that you're going straight into the hands of the evil and extremely powerful rulers of that land. Besides, like, a gun, what would you bring? Think practical, too. Paige is bring stuff like ibuprofen and ChapStick and stuff like that, but I don't know what Darren would bring. Guys, help! :) Thanks!

Couch Potatoes Can't Apply Makeup

So yeah. That's what I've felt like all day, lol! I'm so lazy. I watched like two whole episodes of Nanny 911. Yes, I did. And it's even pretty outside today!!!!!! I have to get out of the house! What is wrong with me? Okay, I know what's wrong with me...
I'm afraid of ticks. How pathetic is THAT? There was one on my shirt Friday after I took a walk, so I freaked out. And now I don't want to go walking in the woods anymore. And that's like my favorite. :( I'm such a wussy!! I'm not sure why, but ticks seriously creep me out. *shudders*
Someone stopped following my blog. Apparently they realized that it's not healthy to listen to the rants of a weird-o like myself ;)
Tomorrow is my sisters dance rehearsal! My mom won't be home from speaking at the practicum, so I'm going to have to do her hair and makeup. O.O HELP! I hope I do okay with that. I'm not completely incompetent in the art of beautification, but I'm not exactly an expert either. And I've never tried to apply eyeliner to anyone but myself. I'm also a big believer in less is more, so I hope I can bring myself to put enough on her so that she doesn't look washed out under the lights. I'm pretty sure I'm over-thinking this.
I started the final installment of The Farsala Trilogy today!! So far, it's fine. Not great or anything, but, I mean, I'm only on page like twenty-five. I'm not sure why I'm not at least halfway finished yet. Either I'm being lazy, or I just don't want the trilogy to end!! I think it's a little of both.
*incoming sarcasm* You should be proud to know that I wrote 619 words today. *sigh* I know, I know. I should be doing more than that, but at least I'm writing AT ALL. Yesterday was better. I wrote like...oh. Less than that. Well, one day recently, I wrote a bunch. I don't remember what day, Saturday or Sunday maybe. But I HAVE been writing. Promise :)
Tonight a family that goes to our church is coming over to eat ice cream, return my dad's tiller, and help us fix a problem with the stupid printer or something. Haha, I love having good friends! Abby and Jarrod are so much fun. I've mentioned them before. Abby is seven, Jarrod is nine. They crazy and fun :) So I'm looking forward to this evening.
Well, that's all I can think of to say! Hope I didn't bore you to death...anyway, carpe diem!

Hourglass Nebula and My Life

How's this for awesome? It's supposed to be the hourglass nebula. Isn't it beautiful? I'm not really sure if it actually is the hourglass nebula, though, because it doesn't look like an hourglass, or any of the other pictures of the hourglass nebula. But no matter what it is, it's stunning, isn't it?

As I was looking at it, it sort of looks like someone climbing a steep mountain. The wind is blowing, and the person's hair is blowing. There's also like this huge cloud of evil trying to keep the person from making it to the top. Maybe the person is trying to get that red star thing. Do you see all this? Okay, let me see if I can describe it more, just in case you have no idea what I'm talking about, lol!
You see the red star, right? It's sitting in the middle of a mountain. Just the top of the mountain. You see the four rays of light coming out of the star? The top left ray points to a person. The greenish blob is the head, and the person is almost lying on the mountain, it's struggling so much. The wind is blowing, and the person's hair is blowing up and in front of his face. Behind the person (you can't miss this, lol) is a huge cloud of evil and misfortune, swirling darkly, just waiting to knock the person off the mountain.
Do you see it? Okay, well, that's my Picture of the Week :)

Okay, I like the specialty posts and everything, but they feel somehow impersonal. I feel like I never post anymore, even though I'm posting every day. It's weird. So, I'm just going to take a little bit to recap my life over the past few days, like I used to. Okay? :)
Okay, so Friday was the start to an amazing weekend. Hot, sunny, and just perfect weather. My dad took our little sunfish sailboat out and had a great time. I just took a walk with my dog while listening to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. THAT was cool, let me tell ya :D The music really added something special to my walk through the woods.
Saturday, my dad took the sailboat out again, and I just hung out on the beach with a bunch of my church friends. It was so much fun!! I went on the Fords' boat for the first time in over a year! YAY! It was just awesome. Just like old times. I went barefoot the whole day, so my feet are getting tough already ;D
Sunday, WE DID IT AGAIN! My dad took the sailboat out, and even more people came down to the beach. Like, our whole church almost. Well, okay, not exactly, but like eight families were there. I love my church friends. They're just like extra family. Tons of parents and siblings, all mine :)
That was the best weekend I've ever had. I had so much fun! Indescribably amazing. Wow.
And tonight, I'M GOING TO THE BOOKSTORE!!!!!! Isn't that awesome? I have a list of like twenty-five books I need to read, lol! I'm sure I won't be able to get them all tonight, but I'll get some at least! And I'm going summer clothes shopping, but only a little. Just a couple of pairs of shorts and maybe a T-shirt or two. Nothing extreme. I'm procrastinating the extreme shopping ;)
The only thing that's sad right now is how Mirror is going. It's going as bad as it's ever been. I'm actually thinking I might not finish it. I have a bunch of people who are so excited about it, and I hate to disappoint them, but it's just going so badly, I can't imagine completing it now! :'( But I HAVE TO!! I just HAVE TO! But how? It's going SO BADLY. I haven't really written it in so long.
*giant sigh* I've had rough patches before. After all, when I started this book, I wrote a few pages, and then didn't pick back up until nearly a YEAR later. This is just a rough patch. It'll be okay. I'll finish it, edit it, and it'll be great.
I hope.
Well, that's my past few days and tonight. Hope you weren't bored ;) Carpe this aestas diem!
