Summer Lists

It's here. It's here. It's finally here! I've been waiting for this for nine months!

SUMMER.

No school. No tests. No exams. No papers. No projects. No timelines. No modules. No notes. No rough drafts. No final drafts. No vocabulary. No lab write-ups. No flashcards. No stress! My life is complete XD

Well, almost. I just need a mode of transportation and the rest of the world to get out of school XD And texting would be nice...But for now, I'm in paradise :D

But just because I don't have school doesn't mean I can't be productive. I just get to be productive in the areas that interest me now! How? I got one word for you:

Lists.

I love lists. I make lists things to do. I make lists of things to pack. I make lists of things to remember. I make lists of things to wear. I make lists of things I hate. I make lists of things I love. I make lists of lists.

Okay, I'm not quite THAT bad.

But I get organized through lists. It's how I think. So when I want to make sure to accomplish some awesome things over the summer, where do I turn?

Kendra's List of Summer Lists
1. Books to Read
2. Movies to Watch
3. Places to Go
4. Things to Learn
5. Things to Start
6. Things to Stop
7. Things to Try

Lists are tangible reminders of what you want to accomplish. Sometimes just putting something in writing can give you some motivation. What do you want to do this summer? Make a list :D

I'll post my own summer lists later, starting on Sunday, my first full week of awesome.

Nostalgia

Quote Day:

“The world is full of people whose notion of a satisfactory future is, in fact, a return to the idolized past.”–Robertson Davies

So, today was the first day of school at home.

*groan*

NOW I remember why I prayed for summer. Doing school for 8 grueling hours with no rest will do that for you. And I'm still not done. I have stuff to do still, but it's BritLit, so it's not that bad.

Subject Rundown:

Latin: Somebody just shoot me. Either the exercises are so easily I want to throw myself off a building, or they're so hard I want to throw myself off a building.

BritLit: Awesome! Interesting, not too hard, great! I love literature!

Art History: Ugh, it sounds fun, but there's SO MUCH TO DO! We have to read all these books, write all these papers, memorize all the stuff about famous pictures, make a timeline of all the big music and art stuff we come across. It's just too much! I really like the books (How Shall We Then Live? and State of the Arts), but there's just too much to do.

Debate: Challenging, but fun, like last year. It's basically the exact same thing as last year.

Biology: Not really hard, just a lot of stuff to read over and work sheets to do. It's not good or bad yet.

Logic: Ridiculously easy, not fun, not what I love, and it's so disappointing! I love logic, but this isn't "real" logic. *scowls*

Alebra 1 (um, again): Do I even have to say anything?

Overall, *sob* I miss Challenge I!! Oh my gosh! You really never realize how good you have it until you're gone! I hate this! I *LOVED* Challenge I! It was, like, the best year of my whole life! (Challenge B was pretty awesome, too, though...). *SOBSOBSOB*

I just CANNOT live in the present, can I?? I was living so in the past last year that I missed the complete and utter AWESOMENESS of the year! And now I'm doing it again! I'll never learn.

But this year really does suck (so far...day two).

And last year really did rock beyond all freakin' compare.

Other than that rant, I have nothing to say. I feel like I'm just barely keeping my head above water, and school has BARELY started.

:'(

Next year when I say that Challenge III sucks and that Challenge II was amazing, come over and kick me, would you?

*sob*

P.S. Vote in the poll, s'il vous plait.

Shopping. Yeah, AGAIN.

FIRST OF ALL, THANK YOU BETHANY, AN AWESOME FELLOW-BLOGGER, FOR FOLLOWING THE BLOG!!! YAY!!! I AM SO HAPPY! HENCE THE CAPITALS!!!

Anyway...

Challenge Day! Challenge: do 100 crunches.

This is in honor of soccer starting tomorrow. I figured something exercise-related would be good.
I am so nervous about soccer. The coach forgot about me, so the team has already had two practices without my knowledge. I'm in horrible shape, and it the coach makes us run a bunch, I don't know what I'll do. *moan* I'm on a team with a guy from my class named Ben, who was on my team last year. At least I don't have to worry about looking stupid in front of him--he saw it all last year anyway. *sigh*

My poison ivy is doing incredibly well! Yay for the small-town store with homemade soap! The poison ivy soap is amazing. It works crazy-well.

So, today, I went shopping again. Lizzy's and my mom's birthdays are coming up, so my grandma took them shopping. I decided to go with them, and my mom bought me (sort of) some more school clothes. And one random dress. I'm considering posting more pictures...hmm...I'll ask Lizzy.

She said okay. So, here:

*MOAN* Only now I feel like such a vain girl who wants to show off. :( Not true. I just usually hate shopping and all the sudden I'm going all girly and loving it and I want to document it! *moans again* Please don't hate me...

Me in a dress. *gasp* YES, ME, IN A DRESS.

My Michael Jackson shirt XD What can I say? He's the King of Pop.

Pig tails XD And, yeah.

Other than shopping, worrying about soccer, and OH, YEAH, I got the next two Maxiumum Ride books, and so far, Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports is excellent. <3>

That's about it. Pray for soccer, and thanks for the prayers about my poison ivy! That's clearing up nicely. Also, thanks for voting on the Name the Assassin Girl poll. Looks like Kieran is still ahead...

*yawn*

Tired. Very tired.

The lake does that to me. I have soooooo much that I really want to say, but I think I'm just gonna make this really short and then go read "Da Vinci Code".

Challenge Day: Pick a past challenge and complete it. Click on the little thing at the end of this post that says "challenge" and it'll take you to all the posts with challenges in them.

-Lake with Matt and his friends
-Fun
-Shower
-Look at Evolution flair on Facebook
-Here
-Mission trip tomorrow-ish.
-Bye

Wow, I have no idea why I'm *SO* sleepy!

July 17, 2009

*sob* I've lost two followers in one week!! What has happened to my streak of good follower luck? Oh well. A three steps forward, one step back.

People are coming over for dinner tonight. Matt and Katie ("little brother" and "little sister") and their parents, and this guy that's helping our church build a bigger building. The guy has a daughter my age, and then two younger boys. This is going to be an interesting evening. Hopefully, the girl will be nice and hopefully Matt and the other two boys won't do evil things to us the whole night, lol!

Last night and today, I read over my fire fairy stories. They need so much work. Usually, I read over them and like them, even if they are a bit juvenile. This time, I was just disgusted with myself. *sigh*

I figured out why my stomach muscles aren't that sore this morning. I stopped lifting with my abs and started lifting with my neck. *rolls eyes at self* My neck is sore instead. I can't believe this. It's not like I don't know how to do crunches. I mean, I do, I guess I just...didn't, lol!

Okay, Challenge Day! No one does the challenges, which just figures because I'm finally getting creative with them. Here's the dumbest, and possibly easiest, challenge yet: take a picture of your eye. And preferably upload it somewhere as proof, but you don't have to. You can just tell me. You will get an award for it. *trumpet sounds*

I need books. I've read everything I own. I haven't been to a bookstore in FOREVER. I'm dying. Withering away. HEEEEEEELP!

Oh, guess what? The Youth Mission Trip is a week from Sunday! *gasp!!* It came up so fast! And it sucks, because that means that school starts in less than a month! NOOO! It feels like I just got out! And I've actually been out for way longer than anyone else, so I have NOTHING to complain about, lol! Still, being off has been nice.

On the other hand, being a nerd and all, I'm really looking forward to having to use my brain again. I feel so pretty-minded (read the "Uglies" series by Scott Westerfield. Highly recommended.).

*sigh*

That's all. Bye.

That's Just the Way I Write

I can't post for very long; my mom said as soon as she comes back from visiting my grandpa in the lobby, I have to get off. Grrr.

It's been a fun day mostly. The parents went to a one day practicum, so Lizzy and I had the motel room to ourselves all day. We went to breakfast with Pawpaw and then went by Wal-Mart to get something for him. When we got back, the maid still hadn't come to clean up our room and stuff, and we didn't want to be in her way, so we just put on bathing suits and went out to sit by the pool (well, Lizzy swam. I...can't right now).

That was at 10:45. The maid didn't come until 1:00. Yeah, we were sitting by the pool waiting and ROASTING for over two hours. Lol, it was okay, though. Really, really, hot, but hopefully I got tanner or something...HAHAHA, I WISH. Lol :)

I wrote a scene of "Creepy" (I mean, "The Mirror". I still mess that up sometimes), but I have no idea what it is or where it goes. Yeah, I know, that's weird, but I do that sometimes. Er, I mean, it just happens. I'll get an idea that has nothing to do with what's going on in the book, and I just have to write it.

The scene I wrote is of Darren and Paige and they're in a beautiful field near a cottage. They're staying at the cottage with...some person that's taking care of them. I didn't think about that yet. Paige thinks the view is gorgeous, and Darren whole-heartedly agrees. Then, he starts up a deep converstation about where they want to spend their future, Sorayoni, or Earth.

I haven't finished writing it yet, so I don't know how it turns out. I usually don't know that kind of stuff until the character says it. It's kind of an inefficient way of writing, I guess, but it feels more real to me when the characters do the talking and I just write it down.

That's pretty much all that's happened today except me FREEZING in the motel room. My mom and Lizzy like it FREEZING, so that's how it is. If I suddenly stop typing, it's because my fingers have frozen and fallen off.

Well, today is Carpe Noctem day, and if I were home, I'd be typing out a post on Evolution right now. Unfortunately, I left my notes at home. (Yes, I outline my "Carpe Noctem: Evolution" posts. Yes, I am that nerdy.)

So, without further ado, I will just say CARPE DIEM and let you go do that. TTYL!

~Kendra

P.S. Ooh, also, I'm trying to think of what Darren should want to be when he grows up. So, any people reading this of the male persuasion, give me your ideas. You don't have to know Darren to think of them, just say all the stuff you've ever wanted to be so I can take it into consideration. Also, you have until midnight tonight to memorize the theme song to a kid's TV show. Get busy.

CHALLENGE! And Vacation-ness

Hola! This is Kendra Logan live from a motel on vacation!

The drive was like five hours yesterday, so that wasn't too fun, but I've had a pretty good time so far. My grandpa is awesome. We got here at around eight last night and went to eat at Elizabeth's Pizza.

Okay, I have some things to say about THAT :) You know those books that I've been talking about lately ("The Mortal Instruments" trilogy)? Well, the Elizabeth's looked just like this little diner from the books, and the hostess looked EXACTLY!!!! like the main character! We found out her name, but it wasn't Clarissa/Clary, it was Ashley.

Also, when I was craning my neck for a look at the hostess, a busboy saw me and was like, "Oh, are you looking for your server?" It was really sweet. *blink* Nevermind. He was just sweet. And kind of cute :)

After dinner, we came home and watched some TV. The hilarious movie "Get Smart" was on, so we watched that until a little after 11:30pm. Then I turned it off and went to sleep. I woke up and was wide awake at 2:30am, though, so that was annoying. I went back to sleep at 3:03am. (I remember these things, lol.)

I didn't eat breakfast this morning...no, yeah, I did. I ate a piece of my mom's zucchini bread that we brought. It's really good. We hung around the room until 11:30 and then we went out to eat with my grandpa 'cause it's his birthday. We went to the K&W Cafeteria and one of the waitress ladies told him "happy birthday" in Chinese. It was cool.

Then, we went to Great Outdoor Provision because my dad is interesting in buying a kyak that you can paddle with your feet. (They're cool.) Then we bought him a belt at Stein Mart because he forgot his at home.

Then we came back to the motel and did the pool until like 4:30pm. Then I came in and got on the computer and checked email, facebook, and read all the blog posts people have written since Wednesday. Then, we went to eat dinner. It was at a really good seafood place, but I wasn't hungry so I just got a baked potatoe, which was really good! Then, we went to Baskin Robbins and got ice cream. I got lemon sorbet and it was REALLY GOOD.

Then, my pocketbook strap broke on me -_-

We decided to go to the mall. So we poked around for a little while, and got some stuff at Bath & Body Works. Then, my mom went with Lizzy to look in Claire's, while Daddy offered to take me to Belk to see if we could find me a new pocketbook. (He can be so sweet and thoughtful sometimes.) Pawpaw (my grandpa, obviously, lol) opted to go with us.

On the way to Belk, I saw this little store called Ping's Tibet. The clothes in the window were really...weird. One looked like a wedding dress with weird ruffles and a fur cape. A shirt looked like a Japanese kimono. I turned to Daddy and was like, "Can we go in there just really quick? If we don't have time that's okay, I don't really think I'm gonna buy anything." Daddy said it was okay, though, so we went into the store.

It was so cool! All the stuff was handmade and Ping (the owner of the store) goes to Tibet and brings back all the stuff. The Tibetians have this thing with yaks the store guy (Matt; leave it to my dad to befriend the salesguy ;)) said. He showed us pictures of Tibet and Tibetians and a yak that Ping brought back (the pictures, not the yak, lol). I ended up buying this cool silver ring with a little black jewel.

Just in case you didn't know, rings are my thing. Now you know what to get me for my birthday! :D Just kidding.

We DID actually end up going to Belk to look for a pocketbook. I ended up getting one!!! It's awesome, and I'm pretty sure it's, like, a really in-style brand. Can you believe it? I bought something FASHIONABLE! I'm so bad at that. Anyway, I don't remember the brand and I'm too lazy to get up and look (lol), but it's got like a giraffe print and the strap and trim are pink and it's leather. It's big, but it doesn't LOOK big. I can EASILY fit all my junk in it, and I have TONS of room left over!! There's a pocke down the middle that I can perfectly fit, get this, A BOOK! How great is that?

So, this brings us to where I am now, watching Phineas and Ferb and typing this. So far, vacation is pretty good. Thanks for reading this ridiculously long and rambling post.

Oh, wait, a Challenge! AND, I have a proposition:

No one does my challenges, so maybe let's try some incentive. Every time you complete a challenge, you get an award to put on your blog. Get five awards and I'll...advertise your blog on my blog super convincingly for a week.

*sigh* I'm not good at this. Just do the challenge and tell me about it.

CHALLENGE: Memorize the lyrics to a kid's show theme song. Arthur, Phineas and Ferb, Dora Explorer, you get the idea.

So, carpe diem! DO THE CHALLENGE.

~Kendra

P.S. I'm typing on Daddy's laptop and he doesn't have my signature code saved on here, so you have to put up with that boring thing.

Good News, Bad Luck

Good news about my make-up bag! A lady from the dance studio called and said that no one picked up my bag, but no one has been in the auditorium since last night, so she thinks it's probably still on the counter. Someone will be by the auditorium to unlock the doors at four-thirty, so we'll be going by to pick it up then. Yay!
-------------------
Okay, so it's Challenge Day. AGAIN. Um...Gosh!! I think I'm gonna change this to some other kind of day. I'm just not good at this. And I don't think y'all do the challenges anyway, lol! (That's not a bad thing. I'm just saying.) What should I change this day to? Any ideas? Let me know!
-------------------
Not much at all has happened today. I wrote a paragraph of Creepy--I mean "Mirror"--and I got a stone bruise -_- I was running up the hill in my backyard and my foot came down on some evil little rock or something. Ouch!! It hurts, and what's worse is I have to dance tomorrow! What if it's still all bruised? Bruises don't heal THAT fast! *moan* This is just not my week apparently. My usually okay luck has turned against me. Greaaaat. (Note extreme sarcasm.)

However, "Mirror" is going tolerably well, so that's good. I'd rather have rotten luck and be able to write. I guess. *sigh* I don't know. I love dance. And I love my cell phone!! And my rings were in the bag, too. I'm addicted to my rings. I have like fifteen rings. Only two were in the bag, but they were my favorite. Completely irreplacible because they hold so many memories and stuff. Hopefully the bag really is on the counter. Although with my sudden change in luck, I would be surprised if it wasn't.

Sorry. I'm going all gloomy on you. I'll just stop now before I say something even more depressing.

Maybe I'll write some "Mirror". Paige is depressed right now, too, so this is probably a good time to write. I'll be able to make her unhappiness more authentic.

*eyes widen* More good news! I have twenty-one followers! Even after that one person stopped! Wow. It's honestly hard to believe that more than like four people care about what I say. Seriously. I have a hard enough time getting my debate partners to listen to me! Haha, just kidding (mostly). But still. Thanks for following and reading, guys! It means a lot to me!

Carpe diem!!

Fighting for Freedom

Hey. Sorry I didn't blog yesterday! Ellie came over you know, so there wasn't that much time to post. But I *did* think of a challenge!! I know; amazing, right? Haha, it's not even good, but here it is anyway:

Do something you're "too old" to do.

Not like throwing a tantrum in the mall or sucking your thumb. I mean something that you stopped doing just because you're "too old". Play with something. Imagine something. You can pick *what*, just do something. :D

Lame. But not as lame as the last one? Hopefully.
--------------
Okay, that was Friday. Now for Saturday. Carpe noctem day. Ehhh...I got nothin'.

OOOOOOOOH but I do have good news!!

Ellie and I talked about "Mirror" a lot last night and this morning, and we have some great plot ideas! I might actually be able to write today! Yes!! We'll see, though. I mean, if anyone can turn a great idea and some good words into a new case of writer's block, it's me.
-_-

I saw 17 Again today!! Oh. Em. Jee.

GREAT MOVIE!!!!!!

It was funny, had a good moral, and, okay, Zac Efron was in it, so that helps a lot, too, but it was just so good! And he *was* really cute. AWWWWWWW he cries. It was soo sweet!! *sniff sniff* I almost cried, too. And I (almost) never cry in movies unless the older brother dies or leaves or something. (I'm a totally sucker for older brothers.)

Sorry. I didn't mean to go all screamy-girly on you. But it really was a good movie.

*gasp* I just read Puddle Werld (awesome blog that I follow), and the post gave me an idea for a Carpe Noctem thing!! But it's kind of stealing the idea if I talk about it...Oh well. I'm going to use his topic as mine, but by all means go read the original. I don't want to take the credit. (Although, I *am* going to take a whole different approach to it :D) Here's the link: http://www.puddlewerld.com/2009/05/how-can-taleban-be-defated.html
-----------------------
Carpe Noctem Day! :D

Topic: Terrorists: Can't we just live and let live?

To put it simply, NO.

Aren't people basically good deep down?

To put it simply, NO.

I think people are born good to some extent. I mean, we all have a sinful nature and everything, but I don't think anyone is *born* evil. However, people CAN become evil, and once they are, no, they are not "basically good deep down".

Now, some people say that we should stop fighting the terrorists. Leave them alone, they say. Live and let live.I'm fine with that. You're probably fine with that. Most people (serial killers not included) are good with that!

Except the terrorists.

THEY WANT TO KILL US. It's part of their religion. Their Bible says "KILL ALL THE NON-MUSLIMS!"

Ohhhhh but we can't fight back! That's inhumane! They believe they're doing good! LIVE AND LET LIVE!! PEACE!

Yay, peace. Peace is good. But I think for peace to work, both sides have to agree to NOT KILL EACH OTHER.

I am all for peace. Really. As much as I enjoy stirring up trouble and debating, world peace is a wonderful that I want us to have! I think it would be WONDERFUL if we could live in harmoney with the Muslims. Some of them are probably really great people. But as long as they are bombing America, it is America's job to fight back.

America is not "attacking" the terrorists. It is purely self-defense.

What kind of country would we be if we just sat here and let the terrorists kill millions of innocent people just because it's in their religion to do so?

We'd be a wussy country that no one felt safe in, that's what we'd be.

I want peace. But it's not up to us anymore. We HAVE tried to be friends with the terrorists. Didn't work. If we're going to have world peace, it's up to them now. We're fighting in self-defense. Any time they want to come over and have a nice PEACEFUL cup of coffee with us, I say go for it.

But until then, America, keep on fighting. Because we are not a country to be pushed around destroyed just to prove we're "nice guys". We have to fight to be safe. To be free. And that's what America is all about.

Fire!

Word Day again! I'm gonna combine word day and a regular post, okay?

When I was unpacking some more junk today, I found a Christmas present I'd lost and forgotten: Daily Spanish for Dummies: Pocket Edition. How cool is that?? I'm learning Spanish now! Only the problem is, the tiny pocket version doesn't have a whole lot besides some basic stuff and how to pronounce things. But, it's spurred me on to try to learn Spanish over the summer. I know I won't be fluent in just a few months, but I want to learn what I can. My mom says she thinks she might have the Spanish text book I'll need in Challenge III (eleventh grade/junior year), and she'll get it out for me! Yay!

The down side is that now I can't stop pronouncing things like Spanish. -_- *shakes head hard* Must stop! Lol! Still, I love languages. Especially Spanish.

Which brings me to the word of the day. And, as you probably guessed, it's Spanish :D

Fuego!

It means "fire". I know, very beginner, and I knew it even before I started this "Spanish course", but I love the way it sounds, and, what can I say, I'm a pyro ;)

Never Mind

Okay, forget it. I'm changing Challenge Day to something else. Any suggestions? Please? Lol!

It's the first Challenge Day!

It's Challenge Day! The day I've been dreading all week! Okay, maybe not DREADING, but I'v been struggling to come up with a decent challenge. I think I might do kind of a series. Like, one challenge leading to the next. But I don't know. All my ideas seem pretty lame to me. *deep breath* Okay. And my first attempt at a challenge isssssssssssssssssss...

Do something.

As boring and lame as that sounds, it might (MIGHT) actually be interesting if you try. It's something we did in youth group a couple of years ago.

First, you decide on something you've always wanted to do, but found an excuse for why you didn't do it. ("I honestly don't have time right now", "I will just as soon as things settle down", "I have the rest of my life to do this", "It wouldn't work anyway", etc.) Think of something you've always wanted to do, and then do it. Take little steps, TINY steps if necessary, but DO IT. Maybe you should write down a goal to reach by a certain day or something. I don't know. But this is the push you've been waiting for. DO SOMETHING.

Even if it's weird, if you've always wanted to do it, you should try. At least try. It might not work out, but at least you'll know that you really did put some effort into it this time. "To be great is to be misunderstood."

Let's be great (I think I'm gonna do the challenges with y'all)!
--------------------
That was definitely pretty lame. But oh well. Now I have to go think of something I've always wanted to do and haven't done...NO EXCUSES, KENDRA.

Time to seriously carpe diem.

Carpe Noctem Day: Being Great

This is going to be a quick post, but hopefully still thought-provoking.

Some of you may have heard of Ralph Waldo Emerson. He wrote many essays, the most famous of which is “Self Reliance.” In his essay, he basically tells the reader than people need to depend on themselves. They need to be confident, but not cocky, and respect themselves. If you don’t respect yourself, how can you expect others to?

The most famous statement in the essay is “To be great is to be misunderstood.” When you first hear it, you probably thinking “okay, sounds cool, whatever.” Don’t dismiss it yet! Do you even understand what it means? I had to write a paper analyzing this for school, and at first, I came up with the stupid generic response: the greater someone is, the fewer people there are like them. The fewer people that think the way they do. Therefore, they’re misunderstood.

Wasn’t that just so enlightening?

Here’s another way of thinking about it: if one thinks about all the “geniuses” in history, it appears that all of them were misunderstood (Einstein, Newton, Jesus, Columbus, etc.). Why is that? It certainly has something to do with their thinking being far above others, but also, “to be great” almost by definition is to be strange. People who are considered great pushed the boundaries of their society. They tried new things. They looked at things in new ways. Anyone who is great will be misunderstood, because to be great, one must challenge the common thinking.

I would like to be great. Wouldn’t you? But who wants to be misunderstood? I think that’s what holds a lot of people back: the fear of being misunderstood. When you think outside the box, you’re usually labeled “weird”. Maybe that’s why today’s young people don’t do as many great things as we could.

Yeah; ’cause we’re SCARED.

So, I challenge you. Think outside the box. Challenge common thinking. Be misunderstood.

Be great.

Ideas

Wow! Today is absolutely gorgeous! The leaves on the trees are almost "full grown", and the pollen isn't TOO bad. It's also about eighty degrees. Ah, finally. My kind of weather ;) I took my dog and we went for a jog down the trails! She seems about as out of shape as I am ;) I don't know how many miles we went; we just took each trail behind our house twice. It felt great aside from the fact that it was super hot, and it gave me a headache. I dunno why, but exercizing when it's really hot gives me a killer headache. I probably get dehydrated or something.

My grandma came yesterday, and she is staying until Monday. She and my mom and Lizzy (my 12 year old sister) went shopping at around eleven and got back around three. The three of them could shop in every shopping center within reach and not be sick of it. I go in a store, head straight to my department, pick out the first ten things that I like, buy five of them, and GO HOME, lol!

Now that the "burden" of school is gone, I feel two things: really free, and really lazy/bored. I don't know what to do with my time now. *sigh* This happens every summer. I spend most of the summer not doing anything, and then when school comes back, I think "Dangit, I should have enjoyed summer while it lasted." It's another one of those carpe diem things, I guess. The more I blog, the more the title of this blog seems to be perfect.

Lizzy and my dad are going out on our little sailboat now. I don't like sailboats a ton. They're okay, and it can be really nice and peacful sailing, but in general I'm more of a speed boat kind of person. I love going fast! We have some friends who have a great boat, and they used to take us out like all the time during the summer. Then, they sort of stopped and starting going with other people, and last summer, they didn't take us at all :( Hopefully this year will be different.

I want to make this the best summer ever, but I don't really know how. Getting into shape is definitely a good place to start, I think. Eating right, exercizing, blah blah blah, you know. I recently discovered that I actually LIKE salad after all, so that's cool :D Sorry. Not trying to go all healthy on you. Just saying.

I dunno if anyone has noticed, but I didn't post anything on Carpe Noctem last Saturday. I don't know why exactly. I thought about it, but I just...didn't. Not many people read it (which is okay), so if I want to post something that I really want people to read, maybe I should post it here instead. Maybe I'll make Saturdays "Carpe Noctem Day" or something. (Lol, Seize the Night Day!) I have all these ideas for blogs, but I already have two, so I probably shouldn't. Maybe I'll just have different days for stuff. Like, a super short specialty post ever day, then just a regular post. What do you think?

Ideas for Specialty Posts:
1. Quotes
2. Pictures
3. Word of the Day (Week?)
4. Challenge
5. Poem or Short Story (hmm...I dunno. I might switch this for Name of the Week or something)
6. Bible Verse of the Week (I could do this on Sunday)
7. Carpe Noctem

There, something for every day. Do y'all think this is a good idea?
